Nobody greets you to seat you on entering the restaurant, minimal clean tables all have previous diners plates on, then to order online at the table to then be told there's a half hour wait on food. Advice - stay away

I was really looking forward to visiting Nando’s while in D.C., but unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. From the moment we arrived, we weren’t greeted or acknowledged, which set a negative tone. When our food was finally brought to the table, it came out cold, which made it difficult to enjoy. On top of that, the floors and dining area were not clean, with visible food left on the ground.
I had heard no great things about Nando’s prior to visiting, but I wanted to give it a chance myself. Sadly, the lack of customer service, the poor quality of the meal, and the unclean environment all confirmed those concerns. I truly hope management takes this feedback seriously, as Nando’s has the potential to provide guests with a much better experience.

People were nice and helpful (4 stars). The food tasted good as always (4.5 stars). But the place was dirty. Not that busy, but dirty tables, used napkins just sitting at the check in counter. Lots of used dirty dishes on the shelving behind the check in which I think is for people get to go bags. The shelf was too full of dirty dishes so the to go bag is on the floor. The handle on the front door is supposed to be yellow but it is black with a thousand hands touching it. Not visually appealing to walk in and your first impression is dirty.

Overall for $41…the plate on the left has nothing special. The chicken to the right tasted good but it makes me thirsty after getting back to the hotel. I eat out at least 2 times every week. This is the lowest quantity of foods I ever get for eating out. It’s the most expensive meals I paid for two people for this amount of foods. Luckily there is no tips.

On 8/6/25 I ordered food at 12:22 pm. when our food came 1 had wrong sauce & other was completely cold. We sent one back w/ runner and other to temporary manager. 15 mins later, one came back with only 1/2 chicken breast & cold rice. Sent that back (3rd dish). They sent a hot chicken breast and another dish with HOT spicy sauce (not hot temperature.) Sent that back (#4). It’s 12:55 now and we still haven’t eaten a full meal, only a piece of chicken. The temp manager still didn’t come back to check. 45 mins later, I get up and tell the manager we had not eaten yet. Finally, almost a hour later, we got our food. No one offered us anything while waiting AND 5 meals + 1 extra chic were made. This visiting manager didn’t know the names of anyone in the restaurant either and didn’t seem to care. We had to catch a train and had to scarf our food instead of enjoying it. Food was good but experience horrible.
