Food was excellent-I had the beet carpaccio (accented with flower petals and looked/tasted like spring-which I needed ahead of a 8+day sub-freezing spell with huge snowstorm approaching). The pork cheeks and polenta were so comforting and warm, and the Manhattan was smooth as silk. Dessert options were sparse so I skipped. It was restaurant week and there were empty tables-kind of surprising given the food. Wait staff were sub par-took long to be attended to each time, and runner did not box my starter as I had asked. The server did get me know to go without me even asking, though, which was appreciated.

Just as nice as expected. We stay in the Line hotel often when in DC, and the Bar/restaurant No Goodbyes is simply a great addition to our stay. Staff are great and very accommodating and polite.

Interesting place ! Used to be a church. We were seated in the bar .... Service was slow but to be fair the bartender was being asked to tend bar and wait the tables. Biggest thing was - people had their dogs with them. We counted at least four. Wouldn't normally be a huge deal, but it wasn't advertised that dogs were allowed (at least I don't think it was), and my husband is allergic to dogs. Not sure if this was a special night where this was allowed, or it's typical. Fortunately, he didn't have a problem and we enjoyed our meal, but keep that in mind if you intend to go. Overall, a good experience, and we would go back!

I've been here quite a bit for coffee/pastries and drinks, so I decided to book a quiet Thanksgiving dinner for two. Everything was...fine. Had an arugula salad which was made a bit more vibrant by blood oranges and fennel, but somehow still sort of boring. We got the turkey and the pork chop dishes. The meats were oddly wet and soft—no bite, couldn't tell what we were eating. Maybe the result of over-brining? We ended with an apple compote-topped cheesecake—again, nothing special—and pumpkin tiramisu. The tiramisu came out frozen solid—like, I had to grab a fork and knife to cut through, and just gave up. Asked the server if this was how it was meant to be and she said yes. I suspected it would be better thawed, so I took it home and, sure enough, it was much better the next day. Served correctly, would've been the only redeeming part of the menu. I love the vibe at the Line for coffee or drinks—the service is reliably friendly, they allow dogs and the music is usually good. I'll continue to return, just not to eat if I can help it. (Recently, I was likewise disappointed by a sad egg-and-cheese croissant and a kale caesar that was basically just a bag of ruffage on a plate here). I think they are increasingly relying on pre-prepared, uncomplex options, so the value just isn't there unless your main goal is to chill for awhile—and this remains a cool place to do that.

OUTSTANDING service! Liam and Annie went above and BEYOND to make my new friend's birthday one we'll never forget! Liam was so knowledgeable about spirits and liqueurs, I learned a thing or two while having the time of my life.

One star is a benefit No Goodbyes does not deserve. I am not sure I have ever had a more disappointing restaurant experience than I did this morning. Even if I could pass on the drinks taking 45 minutes to arrive (the food landed before the drinks even though we ordered food after cocktails), I have never seen a restaurant deliver 3 of 4 meals, 30+ minutes after we ordered, and tell one person that they ran out of their meal and would they like something new. I can understand that a menu item would run out, but waiting until 3 of the items had landed to then ask for a replacement is completely inappropriate. By that time, my "poached" eggs were hard boiled and cold, and the texture was rubbery and, frankly, disgusting. When we were discussing amongst our table of 4 how long the drinks were taking, the bartender interjected from a distance that she was working solo. Apparently a bloody mary, a green juice delivered in the manufacturer's bottle and 2 pre-batched cocktails takes 45 minutes. I wish I had infinite space to express my disappointment, but, in short: the food was poor, the service was worse and I would NEVER recommend this spot to anybody.

during the daytime it's a communal workspace.

The lighting in here sucks. What’s up with that

I don’t know how it’s possible to mess up the simple equation of chai + milk, but the sluggish, standoffish barista duo managed to do just that. Poor service, and a drink not remotely worth the price tag to match. Cool room, if you can get a seat among people “coworking” (scrolling endlessly) i guess. The only saving grace was a pre-made Rice Krispie treat at the cafe. Again, pricy, but at least i wanted to finish it.

This coffee shop can be hit or miss. Espresso drinks are sometimes burnt. Pastry selection is okay but feels expensive for what it is. The adjacent lobby space has a good selection of couches and tables.

I forgot to indicate that it was our anniversary on our reservation, but when I toasted my wife, our server perked up, asked us questions (we got married at the Line 2 years ago), and then at the end of the evening, graciously offered us a complimentary dessert. The food was great, drinks delicious, and a wonderful night all around.

Hangover hash was extremely bland, no salt, pepper or any other seasonings. House made hot sauce was bad too, very sweet and spicy without much else going on. Kale ceasar was pretty good

I think this may be one of the more overlooked gems in DC. I've dined here 3x, each being a great experience. Although accolade and press worthy, I selfishly like how it's not highly coveted. Aside from wonderful food, the ambience is ideal for conversation, for biz, a celebration, or on a date no matter.

The Bay Cruiser G&T is premade. Unclear why a gin and tonic should be premade. Flat, underwhelming, and overpriced.
