My boyfriend and I are both foodies and this was the best Italian we’ve ever had in the US. We both couldn’t stop talking about it, and weeks after returning home from our trip, we’re wishing we could go back to Nostra Cucina for one last dinner! My boyfriend absolutely LOVED their calamari, as it was not overly breaded and had the perfect texture. He also keeps talking about how amazing their marinara sauce was — and he has NEVER been this pleased with food before!

Shared a delicious meal here with a good friend. We tried 4 entrees and succeeded in stuffing ourselves - amazing comfort food with a great red sauce base with the exception of the chicken piccata which was light and perfectly zesty. Our server gave us solid recs for wine and desserts. I’m not a big dessert fan but the tiramisu and cannoli were noteworthy… so much so that we finished both on top of the 4 entrees. I would eat here once a week, just not as much as this most recent special occasion.

Fantastic food! The red sauces and the Alfredo sauce are very good, and a lot of the pasta options are made fresh. Great service, and a neat small dining room with a neighborhood atmosphere.

Food was great, we sat outside on the patio where service was a bit slow. All in all really good food and the prices were moderate for how crazy everything continues to cost in restaurants.
A very good Italian restaurant, very good cuisine, hearty dishes... What more could you ask for. It closes at 10 p.m. there is a terrace on the street and an impressive number of mosquitoes outside so book inside! The servers are super friendly and accommodating.

My to go order, which was supposed to take 45 minutes, took 1:15. I sat at the bar for almost an hour of that and no one even offered me a glass of water. I get that they were understaffed and wasn’t going to leave a review except that the waitress didn’t seem to care. She couldn’t even muster up an apology. Which may seem petty, but as a whole she did not give me any indication that she would provide considerate service if I were dining in. And then the marsala was too sweet (they do tell you that it uses sweet Marsala but I didn’t realize that wasn’t standard).
Edited to add: looking at other reviews, it doesn’t seem like this level of delay was a one off.

Delicious food. Cute little space. Great pizza. Went twice in one week while visiting DC. Chicken Parm was great, very thin cutlets layered with cheese and a very good marinara, almost like a chicken Parm lasagna.
