My favorite place to go in DC. Downstairs is chill vibes where you can actually speak and be heard. I love downstairs because upstairs is kind of like a club scene, which I loved when I was in my 20s. Bartenders and staff are very friendly and restrooms can be crowded but they’re clean! Very classy place And I appreciate the two separate floors with the different vibes!

Number Nine is one of my favorite spots to hit up after Trade or before JR’s and it’s important that one does so. I love the two for one they do here and the bartenders are upbeat fun and very kind. The place attracts the best clientele and yuou can meet a more upscale person who is not a snob. Thank you for the mega bowel of mints at your entrance and im in love with your upstairs areas - they are fun and make me want to throw a party up there!

Some people, largely twinks, love this place, but there is absolutely no reason for anyone else to bother. Ageism is rampant. Although I am not over the hill, I have never felt so unwelcome in a gay bar. When I was dragged there recently for an election watch party my friend's debit card information was stolen by one of the bartenders and fraudulent charges started appearing almost immediately. Stay away. Stay far away.
Kid-friendliness: Don't even think of it. This place is truly repugnant.
