Joe at the bar took care of us and he was beyond phenomenal. He made us so welcomed and offered suggestions and drink pairings. He said it was his first day at the downstairs bar and it was such a great experience. The bar director Dimitry came out and talked drinks with us and was just so kind and amazing. Overall one of the best experiences I've had in DC. Try the risotto and the carne tartar. Out of this world. Only wish we weren't going to a concert we would have stayed even longer.

Food is good but it's way too basic for the prices they are charging. If I'm spending that much money I want to feel like whatever I'm eating I couldn't make at home.

Main course was delicious…starters lackluster. Sunday Supper is a good value for the price, would have been disappointed to pay full price!

This restaurant was good to visit but won't be coming back because of the price and quality of food not being the same. Great ambience but that's where it ends.
The tabletop was broken - a fourth of the tabletop was split. Not a great look for an otherwise upscale place.
Great little DC venue. Go upstairs!

Neither my friend nor I finished a single course. There was a piece of plastic in my friend's tuna carpaccio and I was not given a spoon for the (room temperature?) chestnut bisque (that was supposed to have come with toasted brioche I instead received a hard biscuit). I then had a linguine with lobster that was so extremely tough it could not be removed from the shell and when tasted it was extremely tough and chewy. My friend ordered duck breast and the fat had not been rendered at all it looked like a beef wellington but with duck and a thick surrounding of fat and it was not good. I had ordered the NY strips and they were extremely tough and fatty as well. The mousse was fine most likely some freezer dessert, but a welcome change to the extreme disappointment of every other course, meanwhile the olive oil cake was extremely dry. Flavor was occasionally there, but overall the cooking was quite bad. Service took time, but they were nice enough. I would not recommend this to anyone it was an extreme waste of money and time.
It took over 15 minutes for us to be greeted by our server, who was generally disinterested in helping us. Food arrived before bar drinks which we saw sitting at the service station for several minutes. Large party nearby was extremely loud. We left after 2 appetizers and 2 drinks and the bill was $90.
We went on a Tuesday night and the place was basically empty around the time we went (early dinner), but the servers were very attentive and the food was amazing!
I've dined here and I've gotten takeout and both times were really positive. The takeout food specifically was cooked to order and really tasty, even though I was running slightly late, and made it back to the hotel still warm despite it being quite chilly out!

The place is excellent and the food outstanding. The service makes it a great experience. I recommend it also for special occasions.
Stopped in for dinner while in town for work. Sat at the bar upstairs. The bartenders are extremely pleasant and chatty. I ordered the burrata salad and the bolognese. Both were excellent. Unfortunately I didn’t have any ability to eat dessert though the dessert menu looked great.
On a Wednesday night the restaurant was pretty empty, and oddly a couple and another single person crammed in at the bar with me instead of selecting one of the many available tables.

Great Italian food at the wharf. Service was ok, not particularly attentive or proactive. Nice ambience with a token/bookend water view. I loved the spicy rigatoni and my wife liked her cacio e Pepe

My wife and I had a pleasant experience, the dinner was really good and the service as well. The dinner was a very special occasion, and they made us feel that way. The server's name is Rodrigo; he's a professional and very helpful person.

Loved the Crostini with prosciutto. Bolognese is a must have. Great atmosphere and service. Would love to be back. Everything was divine.
