I was super excited to try a DC staple. The service was decent, they are very pricey and itemize every thing. Corn bread is extra, chips for dip- extra. My pita chips were burnt to a crisp! catfish was very salty and the mac&cheese on mines and a guest plate was so salty that couldn’t eat. Hubby got just sides and seemed fine his choices. Collards had a good flavor, but full of sugar. We Spent over $100 for catfish plate, 3 veggie plate, burger w salty Mac, everyone had water. The drink station was disgusting and a handful of waitress had noticeable attitudes and snappy w each other. I’m good on this spot…..

The manager Bianca is very inhospitable. Unlike the owner Big O who is very hospitable.

Food was alright (Mac and cheese was a little too salty), but all the stuff on the menu was crazy expensive. The mandatory 20% gratuity for ANY party size just adds insult to injury

Grilled salmon had too much oil. Mac and cheese was salty. Sautéed green beans are good but seems like the green beans came from a can.

Out of all of the restaurants I've eaten at, this is undoubtedly one of them. I don't remember my waiter's name, but he was exceptionally hospitable, made guests go above and beyond to feel welcome. The food was decent, and not unreasonably priced, but keep in mind, some items that you wouldn't expect to taste sweet did. For example, the corn bread was encroaching on dessert territory. Only real knock against the place is it feels a little tight/crammed, that might be the nature of a restaurant storefront in packed DC.

I found this location on a whim and was very happy about it. The food was great as always but it was really nice to find that they have a sit in location with a great happy hour menu. I’ll definitely be back

Eh it was okay. The Mac and cheese was super salty and little dry. The yams were good. The wings were salty as well but they were good and hot. Meg the server was awesome. She was attention and kind!
The food will knock your socks off trust me. Big portions even bigger flavor. Strawberry lemonade is the bees knees lol. I never had rice that was so delicious. Its definitely worth every penny
