Rachel Hawkins & I went to Oohh's & Aahh's. We are true southerns from Arkansas, but we wanted to give this place a try for the turkey chops. It was advertised as a southern food place, so we were skeptical. Rachel & I were amazed! The mashed potatoes, collard greens, and banana puddin were EXCEPTIONAL, too. it you're ever in DC, go give Oohh's Aahh's a try. You'll get good service & good food to boot!!!

I liked this place on my first visit. Had the fried catfish and Mac and cheese which was very good. Had the collars. They were ok, I'm not a fan of sweetened collards. Drinks were delicious. Service was good.

My family came from Ohio to visit my Daughter, who is stationed at Andrews Air Force base and to celebrate her baby brothers 18th birthday! When we arrived, no one greeted us. We stood at the door for 15 minutes, finally a guy said he was going to find us a hostess. He went to speak to one of the hostesses and she frowned up her face and walked into a closed room and didn't come back out. We waited another 15-20 minutes to get to a table. Once we were at the table, no one waited on us at all. After 20 minutes of sitting with no service, my niece finally asked what was going on to one of the hostesses that was walking by, to go upstairs. She (Jordan) said she would wait on us, and that she did! Jordan was amazing, she was attentive and although she seemed new, she made sure that we were taken care of. After speaking with one of the male associates, Jordan was not supposed to wait on us, because it was not her area, it was supposed to be the lady who walked past us 100 times and went outside to talk on her phone, and also left two more sets of customers sitting and waiting like we did. We did speak to the manager (who was nowhere to be seen when all of this was going on for an hour) She stated that she was made aware of the situation and sent the girl home. I would have given this place 0 stars, but Jordan being great is what made me give it a 2! I would not return unless it was a take out order.

Had to ask for a service after being seated for 10 mins. Sent back spinach dip, but mgr only took off $3 instead of completely removing it from the bill. Sent bill back for correction and server said “she took it off but forgot to charge gratuity”. She TYPED IN A $30 SERVICE CHARGE! I asked for “her” to come over and asked her how much is gratuity supposed to be, she said 25 or 30 PERCENT. So I asked why would she just CHOOSE to charge us $30 (which she clearly thought was 30%)? I stated 30% of $90 is only $27 anyways, so she changed it from $30 to $27 and nonchalantly said “ok so what yall paying cash or card”, handed the payment processor to the server & walked away. The lack of an explanation, empathy, her customer service, and having an actual service charge button that AUTOMATICALLY charges is insane. And the fact that she can’t do simple math further determines she shouldn’t be dealing with anybody’s money.-spinach dip is only creamed spinach, no cheese-had to search through cheese for macaroni noodles-soda fountain was down, so she brought over bottles of ginger ale and charged for both after saying the other was supposed to be for “refills”-cornbread tasted like vanilla ice cream due to the heave use of sweetened condensed milkDO NOT RECOMMEND!!!

Walked into the establishment and the employees were welcoming, respectful, nice and helpful.The restaurant was overall clean and neat. I didn’t dine-in so I didn’t use the restroom but the upstairs and downstairs; floors, tables, chairs, etc. were clean. The upstairs is nice; big tv, open space, bathroom, and nice dim lighting. You can also rent out the area and have private parties.I ordered 2 meals; catfish (a little too salty and soft for me), five cheese mac and cheese (it had way more cheese than macaroni noodles), cornbread (good), yellow rice (good but the woman at the register advised me to get gravy on the side because it can be a little dry but they forgot to give it to us. Hope I didn’t pay for that but whatever) fried chicken wings (my partner said one of them wasn’t cleaned properly but overall we both thought it was pretty good), sweet potatoes (very sweet, might be too sweet for some people), cabbage (decent). My favorite was the banana pudding but unfortunately there’s no actual bananas in the pudding and I’m not sure what cookies they used but they were okay. The pudding was good.

Food was average for soul food. I had turkey wings. The outside skin was soft …. That’s nasty. The cabbage and greens had sugar in it. The sweet potatoes were mashed like sweet potato pie. That was entirely too sweet for me. The best part was macaroni and cheese. Make sure you check your receipt because they automatically add 20% to your check for gratuity. Will I ever eat there again??? Hell no.
Soulful music was great, but as it got later, the music changed to trap (some explicit lyrics) and was loud. Wouldn't deter me from going back, though. The food was amazing, and portions and prices were impressive! The server was friendly and upbeat.
