Oh man, been coming to this place since 1994 when it was a counter with 4 stools and the gnarliest people in DC at 3 in the morning. Who would you meet this time after late night adventures?
Sadly, it has expanded and lost all its character. I went today at 6 pm and it was closed. From 24/7 greasy spoon to a place that closes at 8.
You could tolerate the ok food cause it was random and full of character and open all the time. Now you’re eating IHOP quality food with crappier service and steeper prices. Totally not worth it. What a disappointment.
I went here before school with friends! It was absolutely AMAZING!!! The service was great, the food was quick and delicious!! Recommend!
The recent ownership change hasn't yielded much. A bit faster service but the bar was low. Kids menu is good value. Food quality and attention is still poor to very poor. And on the day we visited management didn't even know they were in the boil water advisory zone and were still serving tap water to patrons. New wait staff tries their best. But the training isnt there. Ownership seems disconnected from the restaurant (how can you not know your food establishment is in a boil water zone) and disconnected from the community which needs a solid reliable diner. Not an over extended menu with a bar next door. Didn't touch our food. Went to a better food establishment down the street.
Pretty average, but their loaded tots are good
Cool neighborhood diner. Good food, clean, good service.
Steak & Egg was hitting! I had the steak and eggs with potatoes and added some cinnamon sticks on the side everything was so good. And the best part? They got a robot that brings your food to the table! That was wild but cool. Their milkshakes are fire too, and you can choose from a bunch of flavors. Definitely a spot worth checking out!
They have a robot! Love the decor and vibes.

What happen to this place? They use to have good service. My family experience is so disappointing. We came in got sitted and waited for 15 minutes without the server even asking for deinks or coffe. Yhen we came to realize that there were two new people that came in after us was ask for thier order first. We were with our kids so they were super hungry from waiting so we just eneded up leaving. The server was a spanish lady. And i dont want to mention this but i feel like i need too, we are minority family and the two people that came after us where white! Just stating the fact! Hopefully ownership would do something about this as we are regular here and just really disappointing experience for my family!

Waiting 50 minutes with full staff and 50% seats filled for 2 plates that came to the table cold, one sandwich without half the stuff on it and thr last with the completely wrong stuff. Far too expensive for the quality of what we got

I usually dined at this spot for the past year, a few months back I ordered online for a meal and only was delivered a biscuit and jelly. I called the manager for a refund or to recieve my meal for free. Took my name down but the place is closed anytime I have the chance to go. I will never order from this place again and I used to enjoy it with the 24 hr service.

First impression was good walking in, quick to greet and take our order. My daughter has specific dietary restrictions cannot have breaded chicken (fried), so ordered a grilled chicken sandwich plain with a slice of cheese. I ordered a philly cheesesteak and fries. Our initial food came, mine was correct.
My daughter's was incorrect she received a fried chicken sandwich with no cheese. She explained that she ordered a grilled chicken with a slice of cheese, they took it back put a piece of cheese on the fried chicken and again tried to serve it to her. She again had to explain she needed a grilled chicken sandwich.
It took 30 minutes in total for a piece of grilled chicken to be put on a bun with a slice of American Cheese. She was delivered a grilled chicken sandwich with cheddar cheese.
As I finished my philly, which was really good, I did observe a long hair on my plate. This was nearing the end of my meal, I then observed 2 smaller hairs on my plate below my fries!
I wanted to give a good review but cannot! My daughter had to use the restroom as the food did not stay down before we could leave.

I never write reviews but this was possibly the worst service I've ever had at a restaurant in my life. the servers will simply avoid you for minutes on end.
If you have to wait 30 minutes for a check it should be legal to dine and dash. In fact, I encourage everyone who comes to this restaurant to dine and dash until they get themselves sorted out

Food was just okay at this Tenleytown diner. However, what was most disturbing was the abysmal service. When we were seated, we did not receive menus for several minutes. Then, it seemed like forever before our order was taken. When our food finally arrived, there were multiple mistakes. Speaking of food, there was nothing special. In fact, I nearly choked on the side of bacon which was chewy and tasteless. Lastly, when our bill arrived, it was not itemized, and seemed high. When I got the itemized bill, I noticed 18% service charge already included. One of the few saving graces was that it was clean, with nice retro indoor and outdoor seating. Unfortunately, overall, a very mediocre experience.

18% service fee doesn't include tip. It took 30 minutes to food for our kids and we needed to ask three times.
