This place is a DC staple. Any closer to the National Mall and it would have been included as part of a tour. Great service and staff. Hope this place continues on for decades more.

I'm honestly surprised that this place has so many good reviews. If I could give them 0 I would l and the sad part is I used to love this place when it was just a hole-and-wall dinner. The food was always tasty and well-seasoned back then. Now, it's very bland and unseasoned. The atmosphere is the only thing that I like about the dinner! It's extremely aesthetically pleasing. Other than that I'm cool off this place. In addition, if you're a person of color please don't expect to be treated with the same respect that they give caucasian people, which is ridiculous because most of the workers are people of color. It truly does be your people.

I really love this place. The food is amazing and great prices. However, the menus need some updating. It says the place is open 24 hours and it definitely not. On google the hours are all wrong as well. I’ve come 3 times already and the place is closed. I’m getting tired of coming and being disappointed. Hours need to be updated, because at this point its false advertising.

Amazing breakfast, call ahead and they will have your order ready, nice and hot, this place doesn't forget a single thing, even with big orders. I've been here twice already and it just continues to get better and better with each visit, I absolutely love the corn beef hash it's a must have anytime I go, the cheesy Grits are something special as well, very nice laid back feel here. Just love it.

I recently tried Steak 'n Egg Diner in Washington DC, and I have to say, the food was delicious. Their steaks were cooked perfectly to my liking, and the eggs were fluffy and flavorful. It's a great spot for a hearty and satisfying meal.
I went there to try out the steak, but they didn't disappoint me. Wow, and umm, was my response with my eyes closed. It was the best waffles I have ever had.

Sorry I can only give 5 stars. They work HARD... thier working hours are unreasonable, however, with my selfish self, I don't care! The food is so good you loose all compassion! Nice to see something in this country is still authentic. ANY complaint someone might have becomes trivial once you get your plate! My guess is the new cooks have tons to learn. Try to get one of the older cooks. It was like a party! Food was great and my son ad I had a ball, I mean a real a ball!!!! Happy comfort food.
