Great bar service and amazing food.
We were very disappointed with our meal.
We ordered 6 oysters and they were not great. The sauces did not complement the oysters.
My wife ordered fish and chips. The batter was overcooked and greasy. There was very little fish in the fillets.
I ordered a burger which was tasty.
The service was not very engaging and was abrupt.
The atmosphere was good in the restaurant. It is a good location.
We asked for an outside table as there were a number of empty tables when we arrived. We were told there were none available as they were reserved. We are inside. There were tables available during our meal and when we left.
We would not recommend this restaurant.

This was our first family trip to D.C and stumbled across PJ Clarkes. What an amazing restaurant! The service was exceptional and the food delicious. Kid friendly menu as well! Highly recommend! (Oh and the brownie sundae didn’t disappoint!).

Went with a friend and sat at the bar to catch up while on a trip down to DC. Burger and Ceasars salad we ordered were fine. Multiple people were servicing us, so we were interrupted quite often, which was somewhat annoying during our conversations.

Went here this past Saturday for my birthday (party of 6). My over all experience was less than Stella. For the prices we paid I would have expected much better.
Cons:
1. me and my wife both ordered a steak and the were both over cooked. We didn't finish the food and didn't bother flagging someone down to redo the steaks. We had a show to attend so we were pressed for time.
2. I ordered a Smoked Old Fashion but didn't get any smoke. When I asked the waiter about it he said "I don't know, maybe they ran out of smoke?" He came back later and confirmed that to be the case but I was never told nor given an option to pick something else. They just sent out a regular Old Fashion with a bunch of ice rather than a large ice cube. For $16-$18 for a drink one would expect it to be severed the proper way.
3. The waiter or management never stopped by to check on us during our meal.
4. Order a beer and it arrived after we were all done eating.
5. Steak egg rolls were not good. My daughter said it tasted like hamburger helper.
Pros:
1. Décor is nice
2. Calamari was good

Nice place! The people next to our table were so loud. It was a challenge carrying on a conversation. Our waiter was excellent!

Decent food but extremely overpriced. I got the clam chowder and mac and cheese for a total of $60 including tip! Outrageous! Should be at most $40. The soup alone was $17!!! The clam chowder was delicious, but the mac and cheese was just mediocre. Also, they’re heavy on the seafood on the menu, so if that’s not your thing you probably won’t enjoy this place.

We were denied a proper table for 4 people (squeezed in a table for 2) when other people near us got it and several tables were free.
Average food at high price.
Dinner on Aug 12th, 8.30 pm.

Always great food and atmosphere. For a night that wasn't crowded at all, we were surprised that the service was so poor. I guess they bring in the "C" team during the week.
Update: I emailed you same day you asked me to... crickets!!!! ?

PJ Clarke's in Washington DC offers a memorable dining experience, earning a solid four-star rating, particularly for their hamburgers. The hamburger stands out with its high-quality beef, cooked to juicy perfection, and served on a freshly baked bun. It's a dish that burger aficionados will appreciate for its classic taste and impeccable preparation.
The attentiveness of the waitstaff adds to the charm of PJ Clarke's. The waiter was particularly noteworthy, ensuring a pleasant and seamless dining experience with their prompt and courteous service.
However, it's worth noting that the prices at PJ Clarke's can be on the higher side. While the quality of the food and service justify the cost to a great extent, diners should be aware that a meal here might impact their wallet more than expected. Despite this, for a top-notch hamburger and attentive service, PJ Clarke's is a destination that should not be missed.
