Today I witnessed terrible behavior of an employee at the register & manager with my children present. An older man went to buy a gift for his young granddaughter and brought it to the register. When the young female employee rang up the small stuffed animal it was $12. The display label for the item had $9 clearly posted. The customer asked the employee why the price was different & she was rude, raised her voice & told the customer she doesn't do pricing and had nothing to do with it. The customer brought the shelf price label to the employee to show her the error and ask for the $9 posted price. The employee began yelling at the customer saying it's $12 and it's only $3 difference. The store was full of children and other customers. The customers family was standing by waiting to purchase items and asked to speak to a manager. The manager came out & told the customer can't you read labels? Neither the employee or manager apologized for their mistake and the manager told the customer buy something or go. The other family members said the employees behavior was unacceptable and asked her to stop but she continued to yell at the customer. The other family members put back their items and left the store. The manager told the customer to buy their items or get out of the store.

Went at least at 3 o'clock and there was about 30mins before closing and when I went to go inside this dude in a white shirt tells me that they're closed even though there was 30! MINUTES LEFT BEFORE CLOSING! and I had to go to another gift shop the other side of the zoo. that's why I'm writing this such a rating

I have to say the food was pretty good and prices were not too badfor being where we were. We had chicken strip combo which fed all 3 kids . A ceasar salad and pepperoni rolls all for 25 dollars' Not too bad for 3 kids and 2 adults.

We stopped at Panda Plaza for lunch while we were visiting the National Zoo. Menu consisted of french fries, pizza, chicken tenders, hot dogs, meatball subs, falafel sandwiches and Italian sausage subs. They present the menu in terms of "baskets" or "kids meals", but you CAN order individual items IF you ask. We ordered a chicken tender basket, a hot dog and a second side of fries. I think a hot dog by itself was around $3-4. Fries about the same. It was cheaper to order just the fries and hot dog rather than ordering the kids meal. Kids meal do NOT come fries. Kids meals come with fruit, low fat milk and a souvenir bag instead. A Chicken tender basket was $10.50 and came with 5-6 decent sized tenders. We brought our own water bottles with us into the park, so no need to order drinks! Overall, we enjoyed the food we purchased from Panda Plaza. The chicken tenders were plump, juicy and very flavorful. Hot dog was all-beef and had great taste. Fries were good too. Quality was better than expected. Condiments were available at a condiment station, which we appreciated. On the downside: Lines were LONG and moved very slowly. Seating was limited in the outdoor plaza. Prices were a tad high, but probably comparable to most amusement/theme park pricing. Plus there were a LOT of bees and birds flying around the food court. So, beware IF you are bee-sting allergic. Bottom Line: I would recommend, but allow time for standing in line and scouting out a table.

Hot dogs, pizza, chicken nuggets, french fries and drinks. Tables are provided if you can find one. Prices are high.

Definitely save your money. The food is expensive, it has no taste, and it takes forever to get your food. There is very limited seating, and there are lots of bees! It's better if you just bring your own food, keep it in a cooler in your car, and return to your car for a picnic lunch. The only reason I gave it any stars is that it's in a convenient location.

The chicken tenders and fries basket was good but not $10 good. I suggest eating outside the zoo before spending the day inside.

Very crowded and busy. Served within an acceptable amount of time for such a busy day. For about $45 dollars it fed my herd of four very well. 3 slices pizza, a falafel sandwich( which came with fries), a single serving of fries, a small soda, and a souvenir cup of soda. Not very many tables to sit at is my one complaint. Free refills in the souvenir cup at the "Mane" restaurant. $2 to refill at any stand offering soda. For ease of the visit I recommend packing your own, instead of this hour detour from the rest of the zoo. But if you must the food is decent.

Not happy that there was an extensive condiment service area and no hot dogs. Prices are high with Italian sausage sandwiches, meatball sandwiches and pizza as some of the offerings.

This food court has your typical zoo fare... but it over looks the panda enclosure, so I say there is no better place to grab a quick bite while at the zoo!

This place is a nightmare on a crowded day. You have to queue up for an inordinate amount of time to be served desiccated sandwiches and stale fries

Inside the national zoo, exist a food court its names is Panda Plaza Food Court, you can enjoy different dishes, and release to wlak.

You don't come to the National Zoo first and foremost to eat. Like other places to eat at the zoo, this is ok but nothing special. We brought a bottle of water into the zoo with us and were glad we did.

Visiting the National Zoo in Washington DC is free. They have restaurants at different locations throughout the park . The Panda Plaza Food Court is just a short distance from the main entrance. They have different types of food. We had the Sausage Sub Basket and the Meatball Sub Basket. The baskets comes with fries. Other vendors have mexican food and gyros. The main souvenir shop is part of the plaza. While the food was hot and tasty, the two problems are: 1 The Pigeons. If you have small children let them chase them away. The birds will gather at you feet waiting for you to drop something. 2. The Bees. Outdoor food places attract bees. This area has some, so beware.
