This Papa John’s was very unprofessional and unsafe with their food handling; I visited their establishment today and ordered a small pizza. My pizza was undercooked. I kindly asked for it to be remade and fully cooked, and the cook decided to make excuses regarding the temperature of the food. Therefore, I spoke to a manager, and he just decided to reheat the pizza as opposed to making me a fresh one. The manager did not apologize for the inconvenience nor did he take the time to safely make a fresh, new pizza. I asked for a refund and another customer cancelled their order after witnessing this. I will be contacting 311 regarding this.

We got some late-night pizza while buzzed and took it back to the hotel. With a stuffed crust and garlic sauce, it was great comfort food.

Wildly incompetent - largely due to excessive use of marijuna. Food arrives very late, cold and hard from being old, or soggy from sitting in a box, boxes aren’t sealed.

The Best Papa John’s Experience in Washington DC – Michelin-Level Service & Flavor

If you’re looking for the best pizza in Washington DC, the answer is right here at Papa John’s, 924 5th St NW. I walked in so hungry I could barely stand, and what followed was an experience that went far beyond a simple pizza order. I chose a 14-inch Meat Lover’s pizza and a set of wings, and from the very first bite I was in heaven—I truly went to heaven and back. After more than 20 years of being a Papa John’s fan, this location proves they are still at the very top of their game.

The pizza was everything you want it to be: hot out of the oven, with a crisp golden crust that had just the right amount of chew, layered with rich cheese that stretched perfectly, and loaded generously with savory meats in every slice. The wings were a standout on their own—crispy on the outside, tender and juicy inside, seasoned to perfection with bold flavor in every bite. The aroma alone was enough to make my mouth water before even digging in.

But what makes this Papa John’s truly special is the team. Kyih delivered what can only be described as 20/10 Michelin-level hospitality. She noticed my phone was dying and offered to charge it for me, then brought me water without me even asking. It wasn’t just thoughtful—it was genuine care, the kind of service you rarely find even in fine dining.

In the kitchen, the excellence continued thanks to Drew and Tyr, who clearly take pride in their craft. You could taste the passion in every bite of that pizza and those wings. Their attention to detail turned a simple takeout order into something truly memorable.

Together, Kyih, Drew, Tyr, and the rest of the crew transformed what could have been an ordinary meal into an unforgettable dining experience. This isn’t just a Papa John’s—it’s proof that with the right people and passion, comfort food can feel extraordinary.

If Michelin awarded stars for hospitality and pizza, this Papa John’s would already be in the guide. Easily the top Papa John’s location in Washington DC and one of the best pizza stops in the city. Whether you’re craving a perfect pie, wings, or world-class service, this is the place to go.

After seeing such bad reviews about this branch of Papa Johns, I was not in the mood to order here, but my son insisted on Papa Johns, so we went there to check for ourselves if it was a good place to order. We were helped by Alexandra, who went above and beyond for a Pizza Carry Out place. She was very patient, detailed and helped all customers in the same fashion, without rushing them. I shared with her that I was hesitant coming here having seen the bad reviews, and she explained these bad reviews are attached to a place that used to be nearby but they can't seem to get rid of the old reviews of that place. The pizza itself and the ingredients were superbly fresh, so we will definitely be going back. Thank you again Alexandra.

I think time actually broke down inside this Papa John’s. Einstein should’ve come here instead of writing about relativity — he would’ve had all the proof he needed. They said 2 minutes. That turned into 14. Then 18. Time moves differently here. Maybe even backwards. Bring a tent, a book, and your regrets.

All the scooters in front of here, and I get a ticket for parking where I could to get food. And they took forever to make the food. I kept getting told, 10 more minutes. But my food was good.

The worst Papa Johns Pizza, workers don’t care special requests. I put a special instruction for my online order. Even I went to the store and tell them before they start to make pizza. They still got it wrong, how hard can it be? I just wanted an uncut pizza, it is not a rocket science. Waited another 20 minutes. Will never come back again.Darn it.
