At the end of our day in DC, we went to the Peacock Cafe, one of our favorites. My wife had the sea bass which she greatly enjoyed. I normally wouldn't write about a cheeseburger, but the flavor was so perfect I had to write this. The smoky flavor of the slightly seared outside and the medium inside combined to create a taste that I hadn't experienced since my parents had taken me to Chowning's Tavern in Williamsburg Va almost 70 years ago. This and the Chocolate Volcano desert combined to a superb meal which I won't forget. I also need to mention the great wait service and the attention of the Manager to us and all the customers.

We wanted to celebrate my mother's 85th birthday in Georgetown. Our son had heard of Peacock Cafe and we asked for a quiet table in the restaurant. The staff who greeted us could not have been more accommodating and we had a lovely table in a quiet spot. The food was spectacular, as was the service. Shahab, the owner, came to our table to check in and helped us celebrate my mother's birthday. He let us know that he and his brother, who is the executive chef, have been in business for more than 30 years, which says something in the restaurant industry. And we could see why. Having such on-site, attentive management who are as attentive to their customers as these gentlemen were, makes for a winning combination. We look forward to returning!

The owner & chef (brothers) know what they are doing. Standing the test of time, this is a special place. Both casual and dressy attire fit with the ambiance. Our lunch included chili nachos, seafood jambalaya, steak salad, ahi tuna salad. We loved our meals and would get the same thing again. Friendly/attentive staff and the owner was charming.

The longevity of this restaurant is testimony to the good quality of the food and the reasonable prices. They have been there since I started teaching at Georgetown University in 1988. We now hold our weekly seminar lunch there, and I often go back on my own dime. The award winning chef Maziar Farivar offers a nice menu and daily specials. Peacock Café has always been my go to in Georgetown and I have lived in the area for the last 6 years. The owners are the kindest and all the staff as well. I especially love the brunch on Saturday and Sunday. Best scrambled eggs :) I promise whether you come for brunch, lunch, or dinner you will never be disappointed. Beautiful flowers at the bar, where I usually dine. Great atmosphere, too. Not too loud and well lit.

Our waitress, ROSE was raw vegan and couldn't offer any entree suggestions. It seems like ROSE did not understand the menu or any of the flavor profiles. I couldn't decide what I wanted. She seemed bothered by that. She seemed very passive aggressive. She warmed when it was time to pay the bill. So sad.
Enjoyed a very relaxed evening at this place with my daughter after a long while! Very courteous service and great tasting food

Peacock Café is a cozy spot with really good food and great coffee. The menu has nice variety, and everything I tried was fresh and tasty. The staff are friendly and make you feel welcome. It’s a perfect place to relax or catch up with friends. I’ll definitely be back!
