My seafood jambalaya was cooked well but the seafood seasoning was pretty unremarkable. We also got the pomegranate and cherry chicken which was interesting and good but the chicken was a bit dry unfortunately. The most exceptional part of the meal was the staff. They were excellent.

This was our first dinner at Peacock Cafe, but it won't be our last. We enjoyed every dish!
We were early for the reservation, yet seated right away! We met one of the owners who circled the restaurant. Service was prompt, and our waiter answered our questions and knew the menu well!
Drinks: We ordered the hot toddy and Rosewater cocktail. Flavors on both were perfect! Absolutely amazing!
Appetizers: Steamed mussels and Dolme
Both were amazing, but my husband and I thought the Dolme were the best. I tend to prefer cold dolmades, and these were warm and I loved them. The grape leaves were so tender and the balance of flavors with a slight char on the outside, absolutely amazing.
Also, we recommend accepting the rolls they offer at the start. They were delicious! Not over done but so soft on the insides with the perfect crustiness on the outside.
Main Course: I had the steak and fries with the peppercorn sauce and the husband had the rockfish. The steak was perfectly seasoned, and the sauce was delicious! The fries were the perfect side! My husband's rock fish was also amazing!
Dessert: We ordered the Warm Apple Tart and the Poached Pear and Pistachio Ice Cream. Both were so delicious, but if I could only choose one I'd choose the Poached Pear and Pistachio Ice Cream! The cardamom was present without being overwhelming.
The owner gave us small glasses of Sauternes during dessert. It was absolutely perfect.
To top it off, the meals (excluding alcohol) were part of the regular pre fix menu they have in the evening! The base price is $56 (with a slight upcharge for specific dishes), but between the flavors, quality, service, and ambience, you would think you were at a much pricier meal. Not only that, the portions are perfect as well
We will go back.
And thank you to everyone at Peacock Cafe for a wonderful dinner.

Peacock Cafe in D.C. delivers a delightful dining experience with great food, creative drinks, and a welcoming atmosphere. Whether you’re meeting friends, grabbing a casual dinner, or enjoying evening drinks, this place hits the right notes.
The drink selection is excellent — thoughtfully crafted cocktails that are both flavorful and refreshing, with just the right balance of creativity and approachability.
The food is equally impressive. Every dish we tried was delicious and well-executed, with fresh ingredients and thoughtful presentation. The menu has something for everyone, and the flavor combinations consistently stand out.
Service is friendly and attentive, making the overall experience smooth and enjoyable from start to finish. If you’re in D.C. and looking for a spot with great drinks and consistently good food, Peacock Cafe should be on your list.

Outstanding dining, world class service, delicious cuisine, quiet tables in corner and truly a neighborhood gem. Thank you.
Food was delicious: very fresh, nicely seasoned and beautifully presented. Wait staff were very accommodating and attentive. We'll definitely return.
———————update:
I went for lunch in January 2026. The menu was quite limited, with few entree options beyond salads and brunch items. Service was slow, and the space felt narrow; the server repeatedly bumped into our chairs while passing by. The food was simple but tasted fine, while the food was not with abundant flavors and ingredients compared to my experience a year ago.

Decent restaurant more than a café. Use real flower for deco and the service is considerate. The food is good, balancing multiple ingredients. Definitely would recommend it.

When I entered Peacock Cafe I was warmly greeted, and seated in a quiet area as I had requested since it was a lunch meeting. The food was delicious and we were very well looked after by all the staff. The owner came by to greet us, and make sure everything was alright. Food, as always, was delicious, the restaurant is a Georgetown Gem!!
The entire experience was great. Everyone was very attentive, helpful, and the food was good. Will go again!

I've reviewed Peacock before (it's my favorite restaurant in Georgetown), but this time we took our three-year-old, and they were so sweet and engaging with him. Great kids' menu (lots of variety), and they gave us a placemat/crayons to keep the kid engaged (you can color the paper covering the table, too!). We had an early reservation (515pm), so we were able to finish before they got too busy/loud (best for other patrons and us). We were very aware that this is still an upscale/"fancier" restaurant, so we were sure not to leave the place a mess, even though the staff was very helpful and told us not to worry about it.
Probably the best dining experience we’ve ever had. Drinks 10/10, appetizers 10/10, entree 10/10, dessert 10/10, waitstaff 100/10!!!! Especially Rose the most heart warming, inviting and hilarious bartender/ server ever. The owner was caring, walked around and created relationships with all guests. New favorite restaurant by far. You HAVE to go here!!! Cannot recommend it enough.

At the end of our day in DC, we went to the Peacock Cafe, one of our favorites. My wife had the sea bass which she greatly enjoyed. I normally wouldn't write about a cheeseburger, but the flavor was so perfect I had to write this. The smoky flavor of the slightly seared outside and the medium inside combined to create a taste that I hadn't experienced since my parents had taken me to Chowning's Tavern in Williamsburg Va almost 70 years ago. This and the Chocolate Volcano desert combined to a superb meal which I won't forget. I also need to mention the great wait service and the attention of the Manager to us and all the customers.
Good Representation
