Lydell here Memorial Day morning made the darn best cup of hot chocolate I have ever had. Dang. 10 stars. Also I really liked their chocolate croissants warmed up.

I stopped by yesterday around 3:40 PM, just before closing time at 4:00. There was only one employee working, and it was pretty clear he wasn’t thrilled that we came in to order. He let us know right away that our drinks would be to-go since they were closing soon, which is understandable—but the tone and overall interaction felt rushed and unwelcoming. What stood out more was how he treated the customers who came in after us. Around 3:45, he started turning people away, at least six customers, despite the shop still technically being open. Why not close at 3:00 or 3:30 if they don’t customers till 4. It was disappointing to see for those people just wanting a little pick me up on their Saturday afternoon!

Ducked in here during a summer downpour and the barista was so sweet. She recommended some delicious drinks! They were about to close and gave us free pastries!

I visited Compass Coffee recently, and while the coffee was great the atmosphere was a bit off. The guy, I think he’s the manager - seemed really stressed out. It was pretty clear that the tension from the manager was being directed at the staff, which created an uncomfortable vibe. He was giving straight up attitude to the baristas. I felt really bad for them. Despite that, Christine and Olivia were still friendly and did their best to stay positive with customers. I visited from out of town and would recommend this place though.

I was at a Starbucks near by and it offered tables, no seats and no bathroom. That was my queue to get out of there
Compass coffee was a refreshing contrast for an inviting atmosphere. Very nice coffee shop. Clean and quick service. Even has seats and a restroom.
