Moody vibe. Good music, but had to ask for volume to be lowered. Usual problem of hard-to-read menu font. Cell phone flashlights needed to decipher the menu. Service was very good. Compliments to Julio, Anderson, and Sadi.

Always a great time when traveling to DC from NYC! Victor was a great and attentive server! Will return and highly recommend! Especially before an Arena Stage show!

10's across the board! Cocktails 10 Service 10 Food 10 This was our first time here but it will not be our last! Our party of four were celebrating my husband's birthday. The vibe was grown and sexy-a perfect way to relax and unwind after a long work week! Excellent service from Alex and his team...., but the real star of the show is the food! We all decided to try the Golden Tasting Menu-four courses including dessert. I'm smiling now thinking about the delicious, fresh, hot food-highly recommend the tasting menu! You're able to try nearly everything on their menu. Our favorites were the chicken lettuce wraps, honey spare ribs, dumplings, spring rolls, fried rice, jumbo shrimp, filet mignon, and cashew chicken. Last was four desserts and a surprise for my husband-baked alaska. Thanks again Alex for making his birthday extra-special and hope to see you again soon!

Another great dinner experience. They always do vegetables so well. From the broccoli to the cauliflower to the veggie lettuce wrap, they were all delicious. My favorite lobster noodles were just like I remembered. It was my birthday so this time we got the baked Alaska which is always presented so beautifully along with the red velvet cheesecake. The staff are some of the kindest people ever!

I was blown away by the prefix dinner menu. We went for my friend's birthday, and we were overly impressed. From the moment we sat down drinks were put on the table and mountains of food were brought out the best dinner experience I've had in a very long time

From the moment I walked in the door, I was impressed with the beautiful surroundings. The theater prix fixe menu was excellent, and the food was positively exceptional. The portions were quite large, and I had to take several of them home with me. The wait staff was excellent and made sure that we were able to get out in enough time to get over to Arena Stage with time to spare. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for regular dining or specifically for special occasion dining.

This was our first visit. The food we shared was delicious. The server was a polished pro. The live jazz was delightful. The cocktails were well mixed. The prices were substantial but not out of bounds these days. Unfortunately, all our good feelings disappeared in the middle of the night after dinner, when both my partner and I awakened suffering acute gastrointestinal distress. Something we had eaten had made us quite ill. Leftovers were dumped in the trash this morning, as finishing them is out of the question. After leaving the restaurant we were looking forward to returning. After last night, we'd be reluctant to ever do so.

We had a lovely dinner at Philippe Chow. Our main course choices were excellent, but we would not recommend the fried calamari appetizer. It was mediocre, a bit oily. Perhaps the highlight of our visit was Julio who was our lead server. He has delightful personality and made sure my husband had their flaming dessert for his birthday. One final note, at least for us, Philippe Chow has special occasion prices. It's too pricey for an “I don't feel like cooking” evening or even an average date night.

It was my first time trying the food and the food was absolutely great. Everything was cooked to perfection. The ambience was great and the server Sebastian was also perfect. He made our night wonderful could explain how much we appreciate his service.

I should have read Tom Sietsma's review from 2023 before booking dinner at this over-priced and underwhelming restaurant. Unfortunately, I was lured by the digital ad from Arena Stage when I bought tickets for Damn Yankees. The food was truly no better than a dozen neighborhood Chinese restaurants make at half (or less) the price. Scallion pancakes hardly had the taste of scallions and the wrapper of the dumpling assortment was thick and chewy. The best part of the filet mignon and string bean was the beans. The beef was overcooked and tough. The skin of Crispy Beijing chicken was not crisp and the meat was bland. The reason that the scallions pancakes were underwhelming is that the scallions served with the chicken were also tasteless (and too thickly cut, to boot). There service was friendly but slow and the manager tried as best he could to make amends. We did not want to be comp'd for the entrees but the manager insisted. The check did not contain any comp....the waiter "forgot"! It was a night to remember primarily because the play was great

Early dinner seating (6pm) so there were still families with small crying children. Our rice and food was warm not hot. Service was great and he went back and brought us new hot rice.

The staff were attentive. Vincent was great. The food was excellent. I thought the portion sizes were great. The arena stage collaboration and menu was perfect.

This is a lovely Chinese restaurant in the Wharf shopping area in SW D.C. We responded to a suggestion from Arena Stage that we dine there before seeind Damn Yankees (which was fantastic!) Our server was Julio and he was terrific. Full of advice and just going over the top to make our meal memorable. I had the prix fixe dinner ($59) which was enough food for three meals. My daughter had a shrimp entree. We shared the calamari, which is the only thing I don't recommend. It was my birthday and you need to go there on yours and see the treat they bring out (and set on fire) to celebrate! A very enjoyable experience overall, especially thanks to Julio.

Had a pleasant experience dining here on the weekend. I wasn't sure what to order and got some good recommendations by our waiter Camilo, who was pretty attentive. Ended up loving the food.
