Phillips Seafood & Steak has not been as good as they were in the '70s, 80's and the 90's. The taste of their food is pathetic compared to what I experienced in the '70s, 80's and the 90's. Whatever this restaurant used to have in food taste within the '70s, 80's and the 90's needs to seek out how to bring that good taste back, so that people of these days experience the better taste we all enjoyed in the '70s, 80's and the 90's .

I was visiting DC from NJ. Wanted to visit so I set a reservation for 8:45pm (times set by restaurant) I arrive and sit down and the waitress comes to inform us that the kitchen closes in 5 minutes. So my gf and I tried to rush and skim the menu (never been here) to order. Within the 5 minutes 2 workers came to check TWICE. So as we scramble around the menu we place a order. Then realized we didn’t order a appetizer but it was too late. We ended up not staying because we were well going to spend over 200 dollars on things we rushed to order. I’ll stick to “Hook and Reel” to get my seafood while in DC!! #imamotherbeforeanything

I meet friends in this place often! This is my favorite place to grab a bite. I go there at least once a month. The food is great, the crew is friendly and the prices are reasonable. I like eating in this restaurant over a nice meal.

TIM WAS THE SERVER The food was mediocre. service terrible. It's food week they had a deal for 3 course meal so my friend and I each want to order different things so we could try it all. We got soup and salad as starters but as soon as the waiter Tim took our order after rushing us 3 times to see if we're ready to order after we said no to drinks his whole mood changed and we were rushed . I realize there is goat cheese on the salad which I cannot have and I asked him to just give me the soup instead. He said I've already put the order in why did you order that if you don't want it were you just playing games. I'm like no we wanted to have a variety.. and he litterally didn't change the order . I just pushed the salad away and told my friend it's okay I'm not eating it. He then says because I'm being nice tonight I'll get you a small side of soup.. umm excuse me no you should do it because of good customer service.. i will say this the peppered steak on rice was great my friend got the crab cake dish it was so tiny and had the same appitizer soul as a dip . He asked if we liked it or if I was trying to change my mind again... After all that he was very disinterested in us and We ran out of water and had to get a table clearer to get us some waters. Not worth the 80$ spent

Food came really fast. Had the crab fried rice.........AMAZING!! A lil spicy but not enough to burn your insides. Atmosphere was quiet and not too busy.
I was there for my birthday and it just happens to be restaurant week and the dinner offerings were tasty and varied. I finally got to taste a dessert I've always wanted to taste the 9 layer island cake. Awesome...the service was great.
