First of all, the coffee is great. However, I think they should teach their staff how to measure coffee when preparing a pound of whole beans. Net weight excludes the weight of the bag. It's a matter of principle...
My favorite coffee place in DC!
Four of us headed to Philz Coffee in Adams Morgan for a quick breakfast. We ordered four drinks and three pastries for $36. The service was fast and friendly. My chocolate croissant was fluffy and delicious - lots of chocolate between soft croissant layers. Philz is spacious and clean - a great place to meet friends, do some work on your laptop or just take a break. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating in different places, so you are spaced out and not crowded. Philz is based in San Francisco but it doesn't feel like a chain store - it has a local feel.
Excellent Turkish coffee... fresh poured every time ?
Only place where I feel good spending $7 on a cold brew. I love Philz. The people who work here are so nice and warm, the coffee is special, and the breakfast burrito is incredible. Great place to sit and work or take coffee to go. Only downside is there’s only one bathroom which can get backed up every so often. After the Dupont location closed I’m now just hoping this one stays in business!
My sister and I have now made stopping by Philz an annual tradition! When driving through the city midway through a long drive, we were very excited to stop here again. I got the “Mocha Tesura” and my sister got the “Mint Mojito” both delicious coffee based drinks. We loved both and actually switched drinks because we both like the other better. Always a good time and NOT too pretentious cafe energy which I like to avoid. Highly recommend!!
I love how they have “featured creations” here. I tried the iced gingersnap and it was amazing. Best coffee in DC!? ? Also the space is nice.
Great Turkish Coffee! They do pour overs which takes extra time but so well worth it!
Delicious food
Absolutely love Philz, wish they had more locations in DC. Truly enjoy their unique blends like mint mojito, jacobs wonder bar, Philtered soul that other nice cafes don’t have.

Me and my husband were in town this past weekend and were told to try Philz out! We both got iced mocha tesoras and ended up buying a whole bag of it, wish we had one in NC!
Well located. The coffee is good but the first time I went and ordered regular coffee with milk on the side they made a fuss. Today I ordered almond milk and they gave me regular EXPIRED milk TWICE. It’s an ok café, could do better. Two stars for the location.
The coffee was great much better than Starbucks but the blueberry muffin didn’t have much taste! The service was great..
You don’t have to go SF to drink mint mojito. It is said they don’t have this in New York. You must try this in Philz??
Their coffee is very delicious. Much better than Starbucks. He’s and you can’t beat their prices for coffee.
