First impressions matter, and this restaurant made a wonderful one. From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere felt inviting. The server was exceptionally attentive—offering thoughtful suggestions for both menu items and drinks, which made the ordering process feel effortless. When the food arrived, it was beautifully presented and just as welcoming in appearance as the service had been. Each dish delivered on flavor, exceeding expectations and leaving a lasting impression.

Loved this place! Who knew there was life down on L Street on a Sunday evening?! Although the streets seemed deserted, once you entered - this place was so lively! We came during happy hour and the bar and tables were pretty full. Lots of chatter and light music. It had a very speakeasy-kind-of-vibe. Thankfully we had a reservation and didn't have to wait. The hostess were very welcoming and the waiter was Peruvian and gave some really great recommendations on food and drinks. I really enjoyed the cocktail the Guapo! The Pisco with ginger beer was a nice balance with the passion fruit. And the food was amazing! We had the Tostones - shrimp, pork and crab - so good! Also the Peruvian chicken and rice and the grilled beef tenderloin with fried rice. Great recs by the waiter! We'll definitely have to come back..especially during happy hour!

Unfortunately this place has really gone down hill. I used to come frequently and was always impressed. I attempted to call several times throughout the day to clarify a detail of my reservation. Despite being open for business, nobody picked up. I emailed, too, and received no response. They finally called me back — in the middle of my meal at the restaurant. The service was horrible. We had to ask for several basic things — including water refills — several times. The individuals drinking alcohol got their drinks while those who asked for something else (like club soda) waited much longer and had to ask three times for it to arrive. The quality of the food didn't save the experience. Our gazpacho arrived in a drinking cup that was smeared and clearly used because they had run out of dishes. We ordered several fish dishes that were at best bland and at worst terribly fishy. We left hungry, having decided not to order anything else because the first several dishes were so subpar. At the end, we were strongly encouraged by our server to leave a review (because it would “help” her). Well, here it is.

It's my first time trying Peruvian food and I love the big corn so much. The food is excellent.

Perhaps the best price / quality ratio in town. My favorite restaurant in Washington, I go often but always have cause sampler as starter and Ceviche Nikkei as main course. Desserts are also recommended.

Great service with a very attentive and thoughtful waiter. The topping on the cake was the dessert for my colleagues retirement along with the card. Well done!

The overall experience was very positive and the atmosphere was classy! We had excellent service and the portions were larger than expected. Highly recommended trying the Leche de Tigre!

My companion had less time than we had expected, so we needed the service to be quick. And it was. Our waiter made several recommendations, we each took one of them, and we had our lunches 10 minutes later. The peruvian fried fish dish was excellent. The vibe is upbeat. I will return.

I've dined here over a dozen times. It's one of my favorite spots when I'm visiting DC, never miss it. Unfortunately this time the tuna in the Nikkei wasn't fresh. I couldn't eat much of it and mentioned it to the waiter. I was still charged. Oh well. 99% of the time Pisco y Nazca hits it out of the park.

So I ordered the seafood rice. Very little seafood but lots of rice. It was about a 3 on taste and quality. So my wife ordered chicken and rice and same issues a 1/4 chicken and huge amounts of rice.

I come here for variety of ceviche and I don't order any other dishes. So my food rating is just for ceviche. My server was very nice and accommodating. In my opinion, they need to dim the lightings to make this place classy. Just too bright.

The food was die for and value was good! The ambience and service were good also. Only thing annoying to me and my friend was noise level. It was very difficult to keep conversation across the table
