100% will visit again. The “beef” and broccoli was spectacular.

It’s tough to find a vegan restaurant that really elevates vegetables instead of just giving you reheated Gardein items but Planta does it. The ambience is very sleek and modern (great for a date night) the bar is well-stocked and there are a ton of different vegetable-centered food options that are done really well. My wife also has a gluten allergy and they went through the menu with her to discuss what options were safest for her. We’ll be back for sure.

If you have ever dined on the West Coast and been spoiled by the plant based options, Planta finally brings that experience to DC. We ended up ordering tapas style instead of entrees just so we could try more things from the menu. Every item we ordered was good. The flavors are so surprising. The kitchen prepares dishes that have layers in every bite. You might get a mix of cheesy, some starch, a little sweet, and then some hot pepper kicks in. All in one bite. Really great menu and you can't go wrong. The cocktails were great too. We are going to come back for the Monday Maki happy hour. Service is awesome and every person there was looking out for us to have a high end time but the prices are not DC high end prices.

Will be thinking about the dragon roll for a long time to come!

This popular restaurant was quite busy when we went. The menu, same as the other Plantas, offered a lot. We had the Queso Fundido, which was great, but oily. The Tres Leches dessert was exceptionally good. The only drawback to the restaurant was that it was extremely noisy, This may have to do with when we went, late on a weekend.

Went here for their prefix Valentine’s Day menu and loved every item we tried. They were very busy and we had a little bit of a wait, but they brought on a cheese plate on the house. Would definitely come back again.

We stumbled upon PLANTA Cocina during a trip to DC and were so happy we did. All of the food we ordered was fantastic! We ordered several appetizers and entrees to share, and they were all delicious. Of the appetizers, we especially liked the Queso Fundido--so flavorful that we almost ordered another one!

PLANTA Cocina is now ranked for my husband and me in a tie with Plant in Asheville, NC. We were only in DC for 2 nights. cause our dinner there on the first night was so good, we returned for a Saturday brunch. The food and cocktails are pricier than we’re used to, but we believe that everything was worth it. Everything we ate was a perfect balance of taste and texture. We loved our drinks. The food that I can’t get out of my mind were the Torched and Pressed sushi and the Criquetas. My husband loved his Al Pastor Bowl. For brunch, the Baja Burrito was flawless, and we also loved the Chilaquiles. The Spinach Mushroom Quesadilla was delicious, but that burrito would not give up the spotlight. We wrapped up with the horchata cheesecake, and it was dreamy. The service was impeccable. The setting was beautiful and welcoming. #Veganuary

Taking advantage of their deals is pretty key to not breaking the bank. Like their maki Mondays is awesome, and their sushi is soooooo good. Other items on the menu can be deceptive serving sizes, or else not come with anything to accompany it? Like a mushroom dish is just mushrooms, no rice or starch or veggies to accompany it, and it costs nearly $20. Very tasty, but it just feels incomplete. Service is great, ambiance is great, food is tasty. I do wish there were ways to see what the dish is before you order it.

The staff went above and beyond to accommodate the many food allergies in our group (from vegan, gluten free, nut allergy, cinnamon allergy, to corn allergy). When we mentioned our allergies to our waiter, he immediately marked our menus with what dishes could be modified and/or what dishes contained the allergens. There was something for each of us! Throughout the night the staff were all attentive, kind, and worked incredibly well as a team. This is all before we even tried the food! Our meals were the perfect balance of savory and sweet, unique dips, sauces, and some of the best “soft” sesame tofu I have ever had. Dessert options were also a welcome sight for my boyfriend’s birthday, and the pumpkin cheesecake tasted like actual cheesecake! Wouldn’t have known it was vegan if I did not know ahead of time. Overall, 5 stars and will be at the top of our list to revisit next time we are on the east coast! Reservations are highly preferred on weekends - heads up.

Went here for my birthday with my non-vegan family. We ordered probably 2/3 of the menu and they all loved basically every dish. I had been to their LA location but this one is just as good!!

Every Planta I have been to has always been a great experience and this one was no exception. Flavor packed food and good service.

We had a hand roll (like sushi) of rice, sweet potato and avocado for a starter. Crab cake was beautifully prepared and delicious. Pasta with woodland mushrooms was fabulous. Finished with a pumpkin cheesecake that was wildly overpriced but very good.

The quest fundido was out of this world. So good I licked the spoon. Mitake mushrooms also excellent. Great bartender
