The staff was so friendly and welcoming! Our server helped me find gluten free choices, and brought out an appetizer for us to try on the house! We tried lots of different dishes, each one plated beautifully.

It's been so exciting to see an entirely plant-based concept be so successful and expanding so rapidly and now that I have visited I absolutely see why. This was one of the best meals I've had in a while. My friend and I had been dying to try their plant-based sushi and not only did it blow us away but the other dishes we tried were equally as incredible. Here's what we got for two people. We were quite full and took some leftovers: - ahi watermelon nigiri (2 pieces) x 2: If you didnt know this was made of watermelon you could absolutely mistake it for the real thing. The texture is mind blowing and the flavor is on point. Amazing way to start the meal (and end it because we ended up ordering another round to finish our meal) - unagi eggplant nigiri (2 pieces) x 2: So delicious. Definitely must order. The eggplant is super tender, just like eel. - spicy tuna roll: we ordered the hand roll but I think the server misheard so we ended up with the maki but it wasn't a big deal and i wasn't upset to get to try their take on maki rolls. I think their rice could use some work but this was still tasty! - Dan Dan noodles: incredible. Our server advised us to get the Dan Dan noodles over the Singapore noodles entirely because of the saucy-ness of this dish and he did not steer us wrong. These noodles are drowning in sauce (in the best way) Even though it's a peanut sauce it was perfectly balanced and creamy. The noodles themselves had a great chew and the use of kamut (a grain) in the dish as a substitute for the traditional ground pork was inspired. - bang bang broccoli: broccoli has never tasted this good. I mean it, not only is the broccoli is shockingly crispy while being perfectly cooked through the center, but the broccoli itself tasted so creamy and delicious unlike any broccoli I have had before. And the bang bang sauce is bangin too. All this being said, if you are trying to be choosy and try the most unique dishes, I would probably skip this dish in favor of more sushi. Overall, this was an incredible, unique, and innovative meal and I can't wait to go back to try more of the menu. This is how vegetables could and should taste, if only we put as much love into them as we do with meat. At least the chefs at Planta are listening.

Planta Queen brings a chic & sexy vegan twist to Asian fusion food. This spot has attractive elements that draw you in the moment you spot it. A contemporary Asian decor with a neon lit dragon by the wall and a lit shelved bar. The menu consisting of mostly vegan versions of familiar favorites, an ample drinks & dessert menu to complement. Bang Bang Broccoli- their most famous dish is basically battered crispy broccoli florets tossed in sweet & spicy bang bang/gochujang sauce. It was delicious but little too sweet IMO. Dragon Rolls- Tasted fresh & great. Exactly like you'd any other seafood sushi. Must try. Bao Slider- single one with a mushroom alt of chicken and sweet hoisin sauce tasted OK, but again mostly sweet. General D's Cauliflower- An exciting twist to General Tso's chicken. It had crispy battered cauliflower, soft tofu, pineapple, shishito peppers, fiery hot thai chilli all tossed in sweet sticky sauce & topped generously with cilantro & sesame. It was a good effort. Singapore Noodles- Curry, veggies, & tofu skin tossed in wok with thin vermicelli noodles. On a first bite, it tasted very salty so we asked for a replacement and they gladly did. Service is excellent- they genuinely gave good recommendations, listened to feedback and made up on service lags. Final thoughts- Well, Planta Queen works for the most part & I'll visit again. But it needs to think beyond its perception that the only way to make vegan food taste good is to make it sweet, fry it, or manipulate with familiar flavors. You'd imagine vegan food to be healthy but it hardly is at Planta, except for a couple of dishes. Hoping for a pleasant surprise next time!

I’m not vegan, my daughter is. She’s been a bunch of times, this was my first. I’m so glad she said this was a must go to while we are in DC.The vibe was great! The food selections were difficult for me to “get” how a crab roll will taste like crab- without crab. They were amazing!!My drink was “leche please” and was delicious!Love small plates was able to taste a lot of different foods. I encourage anyone in the DC are to go to this restaurant.

Food was excellent. No complaints about that but service was really bad and slow. We had to wait 20 minutes for a table we had reserved a week earlier. Everything took forever to come out. We had to wait very long to order and then to get the check. Overall frustrating experience. They need more waiters and better front desk staff.

The reduced score is directly related to having an 815 reservation in which we were not seated until almost 9 o'clock. That said, we enjoyed four of the small plates +2 noodle dishes, two specialty drinks, and dessert, and every single one of them were outstanding! I'm not even vegan, and I would say, outstanding!

We've been here multiple times now, a few of our favorites are the Torched and Pressed roll and the truffle udon noodle entree. The ambience and service are always great! It's a special occasion place for us, but others will stop by for one of Planta Queen's week night specials as well. The food is always incredible, as are the cocktails.

This place is insanely good and I’m not even vegan. Went here with a group of people and we ordered 8 or 9 things to share amongst ourselves. Every. Single. Thing. Was. Great. But I will especially recommend anything with truffle in it.

awesome vegan option (for the food, not the service)! i was there on a monday and it wasn't really crowded. waitress was possibly new or simply for got that we existed. i'd certainly go back, but with the expectation that times have changed and customer service is deprioritized.

After making a reservation at Planta Queen, my party and I were met with disappointment from the moment we walked in. Despite reserving ahead, the reception was less than welcoming, with the woman at the front displaying rudeness. We decided to wait, hoping the experience would improve. However, even on a supposedly quiet day, the wait extended to an hour.Once seated, our hopes for a redeeming meal were dashed. We ordered the Singapore noodles and some appetizers, only to find the food both overpriced and lacking in taste. Every dish seemed to carry a peculiar sweet flavor accompanied by an odd aroma. In summary, Planta Queen failed to live up to its hype. With its combination of high prices, poor service, and underwhelming food quality, it's an establishment I won't be visiting again anytime soon.

Wow... Great place all around. The drinks were fantastic, the vegan food was the best I've ever had. I'm not vegan and usually I steer clear, but this place changed my mind! Between the four of us we tried almost everything on the menu. We will definitely be back alone and with friends! They had some.good gluten free options as well!
