Good bar would just recommend avoiding on Fridays and Saturday’s if you’re over the age of 26 and can’t stand crowds because this place gets covered wall to wall. My boyfriend and I like to come here on the random weeknight and play pool and it’s pretty chill. I like that it looks like someone’s divorced dad’s basement.

The. MOST. RACIST. People I have ever encountered. They let my entire group in except for my friend who is not white. They excused her of cutting the line. Genuinely so offended and so hurt, this is ridiculous. So ignorant and closed minded. If you’re at the front of the line they will accuse you of cutting the line, even if you waited for an hour. Actually despicable.

I’ve been to countless venues in D.C., but my recent experience at The Players Club was by far the worst. My coworkers and I were in town for a work conference and decided to check out the rooftop. While using the elevator, I pressed the “close door” button (as most people do) to head upstairs. Out of nowhere, the manager — a man with dreadlocks — aggressively intervened, ordered my coworker and me out of the building, and refused to explain why.
No warning, no conversation, no “Hey, that’s against our policy” — just an immediate, humiliating ejection in front of colleagues. We were left standing outside confused, embarrassed, and frankly shocked at the complete lack of professionalism or basic courtesy.
If this is how management treats paying customers — especially those visiting from out of town — I would strongly urge others to skip this spot. Plenty of D.C. venues actually value hospitality and understand how to speak to guests with respect. The Players Club clearly isn’t one of them.
Avoid. Toxic people here.

Extremely difficult to rate this place when I have been a regular for 4 years but the security detail does not let in my friends and I based on gender and race. Super weird.

Just a block from the Washington Place hotel, the bar was a fun way to end the night. Drink prices were good and the pinball was great. Other entertainment was pool, slot machines, and I never made it upstairs to the rooftop bar. Enjoyed the very relaxed atmosphere and John Wick pinball.

4 pin ball machines, many draft and craft beers, 3 bar-size pool tables, basketball games, skeeball, and a few arcade and casino style games. Friendly bartenders. Clean environment.

When we showed up they were closed even though their website stated they were open. When we called, on the first ring we were sent to voicemail. Terrible service and they should be closed since they are lying to customers. Would get better service at Burger King

I had a really uncomfortable and disappointing experience at Players Game. My friend and I needed to use the restroom, and since there were no other bathrooms available, we went in together. While we were inside, a female security guard banged on the door aggressively, as if trying to break it open, and demanded that we come out immediately. It was incredibly invasive and made us feel humiliated.
To make things worse, she shined a bright light directly in our eyes and forced us out in front of everyone, as if we had done something wrong — when all we were doing was using the only available bathroom. We weren’t even able to go back for the drinks our friend had bought for us. The whole situation was unnecessarily harsh, embarrassing, and completely ruined our night. I don’t plan on going back, and I wouldn’t recommend this place if you care at all about being treated with basic respect.

If i could give this place less than 1 star, I would! This place sucks and it isn’t what it’s hyped up to be at all! The bartender with the locs was the WORSE. She acted as if she hated her job and treated us that way. On top of all of that they had no straws and I woke up with a scratchy throat. Would NEVER recommend this place to anyone!

Games: 3 Pool Tables, Basket & Skee ball shoot off, TMNT 4 Player doublewide, 4 Pinball Machines; Godzilla, Jaws, Guardians of the Galaxy but the Venom had a stuck bumper. A retro game table and stand up arcade.
