This place is such a gem. The bagels are great, everything is made dress right and front of you, and the staff is a fun group. I got the breakfast sandwich and added the pesto cream cheese which was delightful.

I wanted to love it…But this place is a mess. Staff needs way more support - it took 45 min total to get two breakfast sandwiches. And one of the sandwiches was missing cheese! While waiting some guy came into say there was no lox on his lox sandwich 😆. A bird was flying around inside - I didn’t want to think too closely about where that bird might land some droppings. A chick brought her dog inside and the dog was jumping on everyone - they don’t have a “service dogs only” sign posted so nothing the staff could enforce to ask her to wait outside.
Finally, these are not NY bagels, they are circle-shaped bread - tasty, but be forewarned.

Man oh man where do I begin. I'm a New Yorker but I spend some weekends in DC. I've had plenty of Call Your Mother bagels. I enjoy Bagels Etc. But Pop's just does it right. The scrambled eggs are fluffy and plentiful. The bacon is perfectly cooked and generously stacked. The pesto cream cheese is a delicious and unique add to any savory sandwich. The brown sugar cinnamon cream cheese (?) turns a plain bagel into a decadent mid-day treat. The bagels are a little less dense than a New York bagel, but still thicker than a Cali bagel. I could just go on and on but I went to this place with no expectations and left completely floored. I'm on a bus back to New York right now and I am thinking about how I will actually really miss their bacon egg and cheese with pesto. Anyways come here, spend money here, buy their merch, leave a tip, and have a great rest of your day.

So so so good. I’d give it 10 stars if I could. The everything bagel with the chive dill cream cheese is 🤌🏻. Highly recommend this place!

Best bagels in DC hands down! And that’s coming from a New Yorker. They’re so fresh, chewy and light on the inside and a nice crunch on the outside. They put Call Your Mother’s rock hard molar-destroyers to shame.

Love the bagels and coffee but sadly they do not open at 7 like advertised. Pulled on the locked door at 7:15 and one of the employees just looked at me confused.
Pops has the best bagel sandwiches around. The staff is awesome. Must try!

i’ve been seeing this place prepare for its grand opening and ever since its opening it’s been a hit! and with good reason. i work on eckington and every time in here i can’t help but to buy a bagel. the bagel shop fill the area with an amazing smell that brings a feel good atmosphere to the area. the ingredients are fresh and tasty with the menu being extensive but not over bearing. my regular is an everything bagel with chive dill bacon, lettuce, and tomatoes and it’s delicious everytime. (they’re so generous with the bacon!) i highly recommend this bagel shop and plan on showing this place to friends and family.

It’s not New York City, but D.C. has some good bagel spots- Bagels, Etc, Pearl’s Bagels, and Call Your Mother. Because of that, I walked into Pop’s Bakery skeptical and walked out a fan.
First of all, the smell attracts you inside to a space where you can watch them make their bagels. There’s a menu above the counter with just four bagel options (plain, everything, poppy, and sesame) but lots of schmears from sweet to savory. My seven-year-old daughter got a plain bagel with plain cream cheese. I got the sesame with brown sugar cinnamon sour cream. The texture of both bagels was spot on-chewy and tasty. The schmears were excellent. I get why, but they put lots of schmear on the bagel. My daughter removed about half of it.
They also sell coffee, drinks, chips, etc.
Wait time was around 15 minutes on a busy Saturday around noon.

As a NYer, I have come to lowers my expectation of bagels outside of NYC. However, these are terrible. Dunkin Donuts bagels are even better. Your bagels are flat, dense, and expensive. I even mistakenly tried them twice. Can’t believe you are an actual “bagel shop.” Maybe you could get away with just marketing breakfast sandwiches. But actually saying you specialize in bagels is appalling.
Solidly B tier bagels, extremely overpriced. $2 for half a teaspoon of mashed avocado that didn’t seem fresh.

Good bagels are hard to come by in DC and these are the new king in town. Fluffy bagels that keep well for multiple days, solid 8.5/10. I agree with others they really need to change their egg set up for bagel sandwiches... I'd be happy to wait for a proper fried egg.
