NOT RECOMMENDED! Avoid this store. I got stomach upset after eating from there. We cannnot see how clean and what they putting inside sandwich because of the height of the desk.
I just wanted to shout out Ms. Kimberly who assisted me in finalizing my order, after the young lady that greeted me today was soooooo rude. After asking the size differences of the salads, she simply wasn’t very helpful and proceeded to tell me I had to “go down there” in order to know the differences . Thank you to Ms. Kimberly who interjected and provided me with the different salad bowl options and helping me make a decision. 3 stars are for my initial interaction with the staff (young lady) and 5 stars for Ms.Kimberly!
Clearly everyone here in the reviews are saying the same thing. RUDE customer service. This isn’t my 1st time at this location and yet the Sandwichmaker Kim, has the nastiest attitude. If she hates her job and customer service so much, maybe you guys should have her cutting the bread, IN THE BACK. A simple sandwich shouldn’t come with passive aggressiveness. Nor does she have to roll her eyes when people can’t hear her, maybe the loud gold eye shadow is irritating her eyes. Idk.

I visit Navy Yard Potbelly's often and every visit I'm served with happy smiles and great customer service. The manager Kim always displays great leadership skills, providing assistance to her team and customers in the most professional manner. This may be the best Potbelly location in the DMV hands down. From the service to the order accuracy very consistent. Keep up the great work and Kim keep leading. People see you and appreciate you.

The service at this location was awful. I asked if I could have a different salad than the one I chose before he had made my salad and the manager refused even though they were the same price. If I never asked for my soups, I never would have gotten them. The food was awful. Everything was barely warm, including the bland soup I recieved. What truly baffled me is that they felt the need battle a question with a question when they knew how much I paid, and I paid far too much considering what I recieved!

I try the Cubano and it was good. Good flavor.
I was charged $14.38 for a $7 sub and a drink??? Not saying it was intentional but what the hell, how do you mistake a skinny for a large sub, there’s like a 2lb difference. Wasn’t offered a receipt either.
Perfect spot to stop, enjoy the beautiful evening and grab a bite to eat. After walking around The Navy Yard Park we I was tempted by the displayed image of the Chili Mac. I wasn't disappointed.
I love Potbelly sandwiches. Unfortunately, the staff here is very rude and somewhat incompetent. Is this a DC thing with the labor force here? I’ve been all over the country and the world. I’ve found the staffing in DC to be problematic with a poor work ethic and surly attitude. There are many options for a quick lunch near the Navy Yard. Skip this place!
Restaurantji Recommends
Had to repost this review because I mistakenly posted on the wrong location. Sandwich was really good, recommended by friends. However, unfriendly staff that overshadowed the good meal. They had one good employee. Will not patronize this location again. Seems like others had similar experiences.
Also, there’s a review below that seems to have visited this location around the same time and had the same exact experience (weird unwarranted attitude with passive-aggressiveness) so unfortunately I believe it was an occurrence with the same employee, the older gentleman that was working that day. Even when we INTENTIONALLY avoided interacting with him and was having a friendly conversation with one of the younger gentlemen, he butted into the conversation to continue to make slick remarks. He will drive patrons away.
Strongly advise against going to this restaurant. The employees treat you like they’re doing you a favor when taking your order by grimacing, laughing at you when you can’t hear them mumbling, shaming their head and raising their eyebrows and just generally doing a bunch of other passive aggressive nonsense. That may seem petty on my part but then again there are a million other places that I can go eat and I’d rather go somewhere that at least treats me with ambivalence rather than contempt. Now I will.
Service 0/10. truly. I ordered food through their potbelly app from this location and it never showed up. No worries though because i know that isn’t always in the stores direct control due to third party delivery services. The problem came when I called the store at 4:30pm for a refund and was told by the manager Pwan Mills that because they have a lot of customers coming in at the moment, they are too busy to help me process a refund and to please call back 5 hours later at 9pm. But… according to their store hours, they close at 9pm.. So how would I be able to call back at 9pm? As a customer, it’s disheartening to hear that the business I am requesting service from is simply way too busy to care to help me process a refund for food I never even received. After much pleading and back and forth, i was told i would get a refund but they are unable to process directly and need to first contact their district manager, Jim (whose last name nobody knew to be able to tell me). I asked for an eta on when Jim could process my refund and the response was “i don’t know he’s a busy guy because he is the district manager of all d.c, locations”. Then they hung up in my face. So now I am here with no food, no refund and the hope that Jim, the district manager whose last name nobody knows, will kindly refund my money. Overall, I will never waste my energy on this kind of service again.

Strange how this place isn’t bike friendly.
I went in and attempted to order a simple sub only to be turned away and told to leave my bike elsewhere because it would “dirty up the line.”
This place doesn’t need your business, or mine!
