Bar Chinois is a wonderful little spot in DC. It’s a bit off the beaten path in Northwest, but it is absolutely worth the extra couple blocks’ walk from the Mall. The atmosphere is fantastic, the food is excellent, and the cocktails are creative and memorable. It also works perfectly as a late-night watering hole or a place to stop after a show. I absolutely fell in love with it, and it is going to be my go-to the next time I’m in DC. Definitely recommend the duck spring...
Food was amazing! Service was awful. Had a reservation at 7pm and got seated inside. No waiter stopped by our table for 15 min. It was way too loud inside to talk so we asked to move outside. No waiter stopped by our table again for 20+ minutes and didn’t get our order taken or drinks until 7:45. Food didn’t come out until 8:15. I would love to come here again, but the service was absolutely terrible.
This is such an interesting mix, I honestly didn't know how to rate it. The food is really good, but the place is incredibly loud (both times we've been). The music is just super loud. We couldn't hear our waiter and he couldn't hear us. Pretty hard to talk to your people as well. Would definitely not recommend this a nice quiet date spot. The bar is kind of fun but small. People swear by this place, but maybe just for drinks/HH?
