The food & atmosphere is good but it's the service that makes this place great. My family and I visited the African American History Museum & we stopped by this coffee shop. The shop which is about 7 walking minutes from the Museum but our experience here jump-started the day.

The espresso machine is what you would get with a koureg. Had to ask for cup of water 5 times before it clicked with the server. Not worth the more expensive

The vegan bistro box is all I need for protein and greens. Tofu, avocado, delicious dressing, kale and or spinach, pumpkin seeds, beet, squash.. so good! ?

Pret A Manger is exactly what it says it is: Take to Eat. For that, I appreciate it! This is a coffee shop that offers a variety of coffee-based drinks, as well as other cold drinks and options for people on the go. They also offer hot breakfast and lunch options (like soup and oatmeal--White Chicken Chili is a GREAT option), as well as cold lunch and breakfast options (like sandwiches). They have a bakery section next to the ordering area that has croissants, muffins, and other things you'd expect--I had the almond croissant, and it was DELISH. In terms of space, they have a lot of bar-type seating next to the window and a few booths to sit at. The overall ambiance of the place can get loud if there are people chatting, but I took a Zoom meeting from the space and was able to hear and participate just fine. They Wi-Fi was working great, so I can recommend if you need a space to work. This is also not far from a lot of spots downtown, so if you need to get a coffee and then walk around, definitely this can be your space! My partner is a huge fan, so if you ever talk to him about coffee shops in D.C., he will definitely tell you to check this out and get the Chicken Chili!

Heb alleen een “sip sip” besteld. Smaakte erg verfrissend. Aanrader als het buiten warm is. Van binnen ziet alles er prima uit. Gezellig tentje om even bij te komen. Geen eten besteld daarom geen rating, zag er wel lekker uit. Je kan gewoon een sandwich bestellen. Weer eens iets anders dan het zovele fastfood overal.
Another great lunch at Pret! Met a coworker for lunch and walked over t the closest Pret location. The salads, soups, and sandwiches are always fresh and tasty. Always a go to for lunch when I can.

This is a great place for a grab and go lunch that isn't fried. If you are visiting monuments in the area, or just taking a break, this place has some solid options. Portion sizes are small but the ingredients are fresh. You don't have to wait for a table or to order with someone. You can just pick up a hot or cold pre-prepared dish that you'd like, and head to the cash register!
