Primrose is truly a neighborhood gem in Brookland. The vegetarian options are outstanding—they really know how to make veggies shine. The kids menu is thoughtful and makes dining out as a family so easy. And the wine list? Impeccable. We’ve never had a bad pick. It continues to be our go-to spot, and we feel lucky to have such a special place right in the neighborhood.

The food was good but the menu extremely limited (only three large plates) and seemed overpriced compared to what you would get in downtown. The wine list was small and a little too “unique” for my taste and some seemed to be white labels, but I appreciate having Virginia wines on offer. Service was fine but uneven (a glass of wine ordered with the entree arrived after the entree was finished, while a bottle ordered at the same time came immediately). Wish the enclosed patio...

This is our neighborhood spot, and I could not be more grateful to Sebastian and his team. Without fail, we have spectacular meals EVERY time we eat at Primrose.

Recently (early July 2025) had one of the best dishes ever , the oyster mushroom risotto - was spectacular, and it easily ranked top 5 of my life.

We regularly dine with our 14 month old , and it is such a welcoming atmosphere. I’m not sure I’ve ever experienced a place that offers...
