I had never heard of it until my daughter wanted to celebrate her birthday there. What a pleasantly delicious surprise! Service, atmosphere, and food were all superb!

I will go again!

Grateful Dad!

A great place for brunch. Loved their brunch bowls and Ube bread pudding dessert.

This restaurant was good… I am taking a star because the soup we got and my rice was kind of cold… not fridge cold but still cold.
The flavors were there though. I did not like the pie, but really liked the bread pudding

The restaurant downstairs with the bar presents itself as a departure from your typical Filipino eatery, and I’ll give them credit for that. On my first visit, I was genuinely taken aback by how a Filipino restaurant could feel so… fancy. The hostess asking if I had a reservation, the polished ambiance—it was all unexpected. My waitress was attentive and kind, so the service was not the issue.

The problem, unfortunately, lies in the food. On my recent visit, I decided to order to-go, braving two Metro rides from DuPont to indulge in a Filipino craving. Upon opening the container at my hotel, I was immediately struck by the appearance of my order: a Bestik Tagalog that looked—and felt—devoid of life. The color was muted, and the texture was alarming. The beef was tough, dry, and lacked the richness and tenderness one expects from this classic dish. For reference, traditional Bestik Tagalog is meant to be flavorful, juicy, and comforting. This was the exact opposite.

In short, while the restaurant’s ambiance and service aim for sophistication, the execution of the cuisine falls flat. For authentic Filipino food—flavorful, tender, and true to tradition—look elsewhere. The desserts, however, do deserve praise; they are genuinely enjoyable. But if it’s the heart of Filipino comfort food you’re seeking, this is not the place.

In the attached photos, you’ll see a stark contrast: the restaurant’s Bestik Tagalog versus the expected appearance from other sources. The difference says it all. Dry, uninspired, and ultimately disappointing.

We had a lovely dinner here and shared a few things which were all delicious (highlights: lumpia, crispy eggplant, spicy adobo and susig). We also loved our server, he was fun! Will be back.

We aren’t certain how Purple Patch escaped our radar. But we are so glad our palates were pinged by this gem of a restaurant! In search of a mid-week brunch to celebrate my birthday, we were warmly greeted at 10:15 am by bartender Leo and escorted to our table through a lush and warmly decorated interior.

The potatoes were served first, chunky and hot. After we doused them in adobo sauce and garlic aioli, we couldn’t stop our forks from reaching toward the plate. Smoky, sour, garlicky. We felt almost greedy at the speed with which we popped the morsels into our mouths. Another serving and we would have been completely satiated.

Fortunately, our brunch plates then arrived: the decadent royal purple of the ube pancakes and dollop of creamy ube ice cream atop a perfectly crisped waffle, made us gasp in delight. The pancakes were so moist and so sweet, the maple syrup accompaniment was utterly unnecessary. A little dip of pancake and waffle in the macapuno (coconut) glaze was so very enjoyable with its crunchy slivers of sweet coconut.

If ube was the star of our plates, then the fried chicken was like eating the sun. Every bite was a brilliant explosion of flavor on the tongue. Juicy, tender with a crunchy crust, the hefty portion of chicken thighs must have been marinated for at least 8 hours because every piece was evenly savory. I sat back in my chair and loudly said “Mmmm!” as I swallowed my first bite, knife and fork poised for the next succulent slice.

Leo was kind enough to not only slip us an extra ramekin of the adobo sauce, but also allow a sample of the house gin. While I do not partake in alcohol, my husband was quite impressed with the smooth and surprisingly chocolate finish on the sip of gin.

Purple Patch will see us again soon. Very soon! (And maybe you too?)

Had a lovely birthday dinner today at Purple Patch! Several folks had recommended this place and I'm so glad I could grab a spot for dinner. We went all out and had the lumpia, fried eggplant, crab pancit, short ribs, and abodo chicken platter and to finish some yummy Ube pie and some halo! If you know, you know. Kind staff were extremely kind and generous, I appreciate that they automatically charge 20% for service, these folks earn it! Would highly recommend if you want to mix up your Asian take out routine or try some new flavors! We will gladly return!

Stellar service from Delonte! Delicious fried chicken entree, garlic rice, ube ice cream, and ube bread pudding. Stroller/baby-friendly although there are steps to enter.

The service was excellent and the food was fantastic! The Spicy Adobo Fried Chicken Entree was excellent though a tiny bit too salty. The Pinoy Cold Front No. 5 was probably one of the best coffee cocktail I've ever had.

I normally do not write reviews, but my experience here to say the least was unacceptable. I called about 15 minutes prior to arriving and asked if there was a table for two open to which a male had answered and said there was availability and a lot of open tables. When I arrived we were told there were no indoor tables available which was okay as a 30 minute wait was reasonable and we understand dinner rushes happen. We sat at the bar and ordered a drink, the bartender was very friendly and I’d say was the only positive that came out of this. We didn’t sit down till about after 45-50 minutes and when seated we were not approached by a single server. Not a single greeting after 15 minutes seated. I made eye contact with two of the female servers and attempted to call them order so we can place our orders to which we were completely ignored - so we left. I understand things get busy and the restaurant may be understaffed however, this is something we’ve never experienced. Fairly disappointed after this encounter especially after hearing so many friends and family rave about this spot.
