Very unaccomodating!! We had a reservation for 1:45pm and were going to go there all they way from New York JUST TO VISIT Rania(we had already done touristy things in dc before). We were supposed to reach dc at 1:10 but our bus was late we reached at 2:10. I had called thrice to inform them but they didn’t pick up, then sent them a message after which they called and informed that they cannot accommodate us after 2pm. We even asked that we can preorder the food to save the kitchen any hassle because of us but they just said no, they cannot accommodate.

This is one of the few Indian restaurants with a Michelin star in the states; the very reason why I've been looking forward to visit for quite some time. Alas! It did not live up to the hype. I got a booth seat on my choosing which was really nice of the hostess :). In terms of the food, I decided to go with the 4 course menu option. Starting with Nargisi Kofta, the kebab was really good and perfectly made, but the swiss sauce accompanying it was definitely not fresh, maybe a day old I'd say; stale food tends to leave an aftertaste thats just hard to ignore. The next course was Lamb cheela, I love how they went all in with the spice and the lamb was tender, but again this time though the sauce was fine, it overpowered the dish instead of complementing it. Main course was the Parsi chicken and this was the only saving grace of the evening. I wanted to try something new and this was a homerun! Again the heat was tangible and just melodious to my senses. The sides however were alright, I've had better dal in local restaurants and the naan/rice were the usual so not much to add there.
Finally came the dessert; I got the Shrikhand mousse based on the reviews. It was just average and finishing it was a task, not that it was bad, but I've had way better desserts. I got an extra dessert- kesari mango and this was definitely better, still not the best. The mango, coconut and sesame flavours didn't balance very well and they all played a different tune by themselves, still, I didn't mind it. It was an ok experience.

What a fantastic Michelin star experience! We got the 4-course menu. And I'm glad we did, it was our anniversary (late celebration) but the cocktails we got were top notch! Couldn't try all of them on the menu, but I wish we could. Before our courses started we got a petite version of sabudana bad, which was delicious! After that all the good we got was just delicious! I would 100% recommend this place for a special occasion or just for a good date night!

We had a wonderful visit to Rania. We ordered the 7-couse chef's tasting (vegetarian) with the wine pairing. We were served incredible, creative Indian dishes, both tasty and beautiful. In addition the wine pairing was an international journey - wonderful. Jonas our wine educator and Maitre d' was great, and ensured a fantastic evening. BTW...we were stuffed. We will be back!

My experience at this restaurant was very unpleasant. I don't eat meat, mustard, saffron, horseradish, or wasabi. So they made me a pescatarian menu, which was supposed to be without these spices. The kitchen managed to remove the spices and meat, but they also removed black caviar and fresh truffles from my portion of the menu, which were practically the main reason I visited this restaurant. So, my husband, who eats meat, got a dish with black caviar and another dish with red caviar, and after much indignation, I got one dish with red caviar and zero dishes with black caviar. My husband had two dishes with truffles, and I had one. And when I pointed out the injustice, I was told they would bring me more caviar and truffles, but only for an additional fee. Even though my husband's and my menus were initially the same price and should have included the same amount of luxurious ingredients.

Delicious Indian food and my husband and I love Indian food so much that’s where we traveled for our baby moon. Speaking of baby, they were extremely thoughtful and kind about us traveling with our infant son (don’t worry we hit the blue bird hour to not totally bug fine diners!!). Wine list was excellent, ambience top notch, service impeccable. This is a must try if you’re in the area! Everything we tried (which was a lot) was a ten. Thank you for your attention to this matter

We came with a group on a Wednesday evening. The service is fantastic. It was not busy and we were sat and served promptly. The cocktails come with a show and they have unique strong flavors. The food was very good. Deeply flavorful and well presented. Ordered Shrimp, Scallops, Duck, Mango. All had deep flavors and cooked very well. The portions however are small. 4 shrimp. 2 scallops. Small duck leg. Overall a great experience. But not great value per se

I absolutely love this restaurant! The food is unique, beautiful, and delicious. The service is phenomenal. I would plan around 2.5 hours for the chef's tasting menu versus 1.5 to 2 for the 4 course, but I definitely enjoyed the chef's tasting menu. I would've never ordered the tuna, but it was one of my favorite dishes ever!!

Although the food was quite delicious, I was expecting a bit more from a Michelin star restuarnt.

Very pleased with the entire experience. We went for a birthday dinner and everyone from the hostess's, server and bussers made it aware they knew we had a birthday. Food and drinks did not disappoint and service was excellent.

Took my friend here for her birthday and was blown away by the food and service. The drinks were amazing and fun. The food was incredible--definitely get the duck! Service was outstanding from start to finish and made the night incredibly special for us. Highly recommend and would love to go back.

Next-level Indian cuisine for those who hanker for something beyond chicken tikka masala. The batter-fried cauliflower is pure addiction, the duck vindaloo is a delicious mash-up of French-style duck confit and rich curry, and the rogan josh takes this most traditional of staples in a creative new direction. The perfectly seared scallops are also a standout second course. The chaat is very good too as a starter course. There's no a la carte option, so be prepared to eat--and spend--a lot for the experience. The list of wines by the glass and bottle isn't huge, and the riesling on the wine-by-the-glass menu wasn't available the night we were there. But the white wines in particular are well chosen for the way they work well with Indian food.
