Rappahannock Oyster Bar is a true gem at The Wharf. Perfect for a casual lunch, date night, or drinks by the water. The oysters are incredibly fresh and perfectly shucked — easily some of the best in D.C. The crab cakes and shrimp are top-notch, and the cocktails complement the seafood perfectly (the oyster shooters are a must-try!). The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive without being overbearing. You can tell they take pride in what they serve. Whether you're sitting inside or out on the patio overlooking the water, the experience feels special every time.
Great martinis, fresh tasty oysters and salad.... friendly service, nice river view. Server brought fried oyster po'boy instead of fried oyster basket that I ordered, but I didn't make a fuss and it was delicious anyway.
One of the best meals I've had in a long time. I had the fresh grilled fish, it was outstanding.
This is the not the wharf that I grew up with. The restaurant was definitely unique. Great for summer eating. Not sure how warm it would be on a fall evening. My only complaint was that the tables were very close together. I liked that they had a 90 minute time limit on tables. I would definitely visit again when going to see a show at the anthem.
Wonderful spot for oysters & conversation on the warf, a little removed from the hustle at the end near the original seafood market!
Freshest oysters EVER! Best grilled asparagus I have ever had! Fried shrimp cleaned abd nicely battered. Pricey but quality is more expensive.

Food and drinks were underwhelming. The fact it’s on the water is its only great quality.

$50 for a tartare and a single drink. The tartare was great, but poor customer service, atmosphere and the Bloody Mary was hardly drinkable. Regardless, the server couldn’t care less about my experience and I paid for what I ordered even though it was obvious that I didn’t like the drink.

Bary was the best waiter & host! Dirty martini was superb & the Branzino was perfect - get the relish/chimicurri ‘secret sauce’!

Sat us right next to the bathroom and took 20 minutes to get very unenthusiastic service. Oysters were good, but seating and service left much to be desired.
Rappahannock Oyster Bar is a fantastic spot in DC for seafood lovers. The oysters are incredibly fresh, with a great selection that always hits the mark. Beyond the raw bar, their menu offers creative, well-prepared dishes that showcase top-quality ingredients. The lively yet relaxed atmosphere makes it a perfect place to enjoy great seafood any time of day.
