We've been visiting DC over the last few years.. the Oyster Bar is now our first visit when arriving in DC. Superior drinks and great oysters. We enjoy the bijou (a mixed alcoholic drink composed of gin, vermouth, and chartreuse). Well crafted drink... we vsit the bar... bartender was great (Ronnie?)

Food - Oysters were good, but the horseradish was tasteless! My husband had scallops with pork belly, scallops were way over cooked, my lump crab cake didn’t really have any lump crab meat. The mussels we had were really good.Service - started out good, but at end our service disappeared and we had no offers for dessert and then finally had to hunt down someone for our check. No apologies or anything .

We had a great lunch at Rappahannock Oyster Bar. The drinks were great, the octopus was perfectly charred, and the branzino was delicious. The only item that was good but not great was the fried shrimp. ????

They screwed something up, but they owned it and made it right by more than what we expected. Kuddos to the manager for going above and beyond to make the night memorable. Will be back.

Almost nothing from the menu is available, service is very slow, gratitude is included in the check. Frustrating experience.

Food was amazing, service was terrible. To start off, it took 40 minutes to get drinks. I had to ask the waitress if we could get our drinks and order food because after 40 minutes, it was getting ridiculous. Her excuse was that they were very busy, but somehow the drinks came out right away after I asked, which makes me think they were sitting at the bar for most of that time. We also ordered oysters with our drinks, which we never received. The waitress never checked on us to ask us how we were doing despite walking past us multiple times. I had to call out for her each time. The food we did receive was great. However, the service was so bad that I doubt we’d ever return or recommend this place to anyone coming to the area.

Food was delicious, especially the seared scallops with pork belly and the fresh oysters. Service was good. A little slow, but mostly because it was very busy. Beautiful setting at the wharf.

Friendly staff and excellent drinks. 22 bucks is a bit much for a burger, but it's hard to beat the location.

Food is simple but delicious. The food is actually good here, this is not a " Instagram " restaurant where the food looks good but tastes like butt.Have a beer, have some scallops , enjoy!

Ordered the fry combo. Got many different sizes of fries on my platter, also the occasional oyster and shrimp. For the price (and the fact that I left hungry), I'll never come back.

Skip this place. Its not worth it!!Our table and seats were dirty:((I wanted to leave but was out voted so I stayed).I've eaten in restaurants from Philly to Paris and my experience is that when they don't properly clean the dining area, they cut corners on sanitation in the kitchen too!Which may have been the reason for their having low patronage on such a beautiful day.The food was tasteless and heavily saturated in cooking oil. Cooking oil is not, I repeat not a substitute for seasoning. The Lump Crabcake is more like shredded crabmeat and over priced. The only thing that this place had going for it was the view, and nature provided that.
