Good breakfast sandwiches and pastries, super friendly staff.

Got the bacon, egg, and cheese bagel sandwich, with a chocolate croissant. On the spectrum of gf options that exist, it was average. Bagel was a little hard and the croissant was more of a biscuit, not enough chocolate. $12 for the sandwich, $6 for the croissant.

Some things I’d recommend changing: adding more chocolate or some kind of sauce to the croissant so it’s not so dry. Also warming it up and melting it would make it taste better. The bagel was hard so I’d recommend adding more cheese or butter to soften. It was supposed to be an everything bagel but I didn’t taste that, so maybe more of the seasoning as well.

Amazing gluten free bakery with THE BEST gluten free chocolate croissant outside of Paris! Every time I go to DC I stop here for treats. I appreciate they also have real food options (breakfast sandwiches & avocado toasts) and have some vegan options.

The only point off they would get from me is that the building is not accessible (has stairs and not other entry).

Definitely recommend stopping in!

Food was okay. Till date have not found good gf baked goods which are not hard to eat once they are served cold.

This is a MUST SEE for anyone that either is Gluten Free or has a family member or friend that is. Amazing sandwiches for breakfast or lunch, and a super friendly staff!

Absolutely incredible gluten-free bakery located in the heart of Adams Morgan. This cute little shop may look unassuming from the outside, but they're home to some of the most talented baking magicians who've somehow managed to craft DC's best gluten-free pastries that somehow have all the textures and flavors of their gluten-having cousins. I dropped by Rise Bakery pretty late on a Sunday afternoon, so they had already sold out of a bunch of things. The staff was super friendly and noted that customers should try to arrive before 10 AM on the weekends if there's something specific they want since Rise tends to sell out of their popular items pretty quickly.

At the staff's recommendation, I decided to get the chocolate eclair, which was both phenomenal and massive. The choux pastry was super light and airy and had the signature firm, slightly crisp outer shell. That shell served as the perfect canvas for the melted chocolate, and the chocolate ganache inside the eclair was rich, creamy, and decadent. The eclair was probably double the size of a standard eclair, and I was thoroughly impressed by how well it had come together -- eclairs are hard enough to make when you're using normal flour, but this was super impressive and didn't taste like it was gluten-free at all.

First of all I love that this place exists for my celiac child. This is only a review of the baked goods because that is all we tried. Oreo cupcake was great according to my son (he has no food allergies). My daughter loved her vanilla donut. The brioche buns they have were delicious. A little dense, but some of the best GF bread I’ve had. Would be wonderful for burgers or any kind of sandwich. The cinnamon roll was the best and closest to the real thing I’ve seen. I only wish they baked them together so the outside didn’t get so hard. The inside was delicious and especially good when warmed as suggested. The outside just got a little hard and burnt tasting from how it was baked. The staff was not very informative and seemed a little annoyed. It was our first time so we did take our time looking at everything, but it wasn’t busy and no one was behind us. Maybe just a bad day. We will definitely be back though.

Dietary restrictions: Gluten free bakery.

Our daughter had them deliver a box of doughnuts and a variety box with lemon tart, chocolate roll, donut, to name a few. My wife and I are gluten and dairy free and these are the best baked treats in the DC area. Anywhere we go including Bethesda we give gluten free bakeries a try. The icings at Rise are perfect and the consistency of the dough soft , chewy, sometimes crisp. Every pastry completely different.

Friendly, helpful fully gluten-free and occasionally dairy, but, and soy free bakery. I want to go every day of my trip here!

Dietary restrictions: They have options for those with celiac, dairy, nut, and soy allergies. Highly recommend. Good quality products too!
