10/10 best cinnamon rolls in the city gluten free or otherwise. If you don’t try anything else get that.

Gluten free cinnamon roll was absolutely excellent. Bacon egg and cheese also super moist and delicious. Almost tasted like a Chik Fil A biscuit. Tastes very expensive without the expensive price tag. Would absolutely come back anytime I’m in DC.

If youre gluten free and in the area I definitely recommend checking it out! All the treats I got were so good and it was nice having a wide selection of gluten free baked goods! The lemon bars are so so so good!

Stopped here with my husband while in D.C. ordered two breakfast biscuit sandwiches and they were AMAZING! He doesn’t have to eat gluten free and even he loved it! I had to hold back because I wanted one everything! The 2 women working were so sweet and patient as this was our first time.

I had the coffee cheesecake and it was delicious. Everything I've ever had here has been gluten free and fantastic. Worth the trip.

AMAZING!! The gluten free bagel was literally better than a regular bagel. Would travel back to DC just for this bakery. Super cool part of town too

We found this cute little dedicated gluten free bakery while in DC for a protest march. It was so awesome to wander in and be able to get food without worry! Everything is clearly coded - vegan, egg, etc. and they have ingredients lists so you can check ingredients if you need to. I got an everything bagel with hummus, arugula, advocado, and tomato. It was fresh and delicious. It was also a big treat to be able to just order and eat. Now for me, the bagel did have xanthan gum, which gives me trouble sometimes if I have a lot - I was okay. Just a heads-up if gum additives are a problem for you. The cookies, donuts, etc. looked awesome but I didn’t try because I can’t have sugar. There’s two little seats in the window. Lots of people were coming in to buy loaves and bags of bagels so it seems very popular with locals. Highly recommend for those of us on special diets! I will be back for sure if I’m in the area again.

I had high expectations coming here since it was so highly recommended, but unfortunately, my experience was disappointing.
First, seating was a big issue; there are only a couple tables inside, so I ended up having to eat outside, which felt inconvenient and uncomfortable. The ordering process also wasn’t great; the cashier seemed rushed and gave off a dismissive attitude, which made me feel unwelcome.
My breakfast sandwich took longer than expected to come out, and when it finally did, the bagel was overcooked to the point of being nearly burnt. It was so hard and crumbly that pieces fell everywhere when I tried to eat it. For the price, the menu options also felt very limited and basic, especially since they charge extra for nearly everything.
Overall, between the lack of seating, slow service, burnt food, and the unwelcoming atmosphere, this place did not live up to the hype. I’ve found much better (and cheaper) food in D.C., even in just the short time I’ve been here.

Can’t comment on service and atmosphere because I ordered to my house but the gluten free options are SO GOOD. I also tried a breakfast sandwich and lunch sandwich. Both very good.

Whenever we're in DC, Rise is a must. They're stuff is good and if you can't get good gluten-free/GF stuff where you live, don't pass this up. We tried a bunch of stuff - the classic breakfast sandwich, mom knows best, chocolate croissant, vanilla donut, eclair, and cannoli. My wife loved the mom knows best and the vanilla donut was the best pastry we had.

Welcoming and cozy. Staff was kind and accommodating. Grilled Chez - fair. The Chipole chicken bacon panini was pretty good but the chicken was so thick and took up the whole bite. The cinnamon roll was dry and burnt. Very disappointed in the flavor of the dough. The cannoli crust was way too thick and extremely dry. Would not recommend the sweets at all, even for being gluten free.

Whenever I’m in DC … Rise is on my “to do” list . The raisin bread is delicious! Never dry and makes delicious toast with melted butter. I always buy a couple of loaves to freeze. I buy other things too but always buy the raisin bread!!!!
