It's Rita's. It's delicious. Sometimes this location is lacking on flavors or working machines but it's still Rita's.

My daughter and I both got the soft serve swirl, and it was delicious!! A far cry from mass produced soft serve, Rita's was perfectly creamy and rich.

Been meaning to stop by here on previous trips to DC, but I always seem to forget about it... Well, I made the stop this time and sadly, I was disappointed, as the custard was not what I had expected. I have tried this at other establishments in other parts of the US, but for some reason, this place had a funny texture and taste. I personally thought it was quite heavy and too creamy... others seemed to be ordering the Italian ice dishes, so I think I will try that next time.

This was my first visit to a Rita's and I'm instantly a fan of their italian ice. I really enjoyed my cotton candy flavored ice and the service provided by the employee. I do think their prices are a smidge high and this place desperately needs a deep cleaning, but the product they serve is awesome.

The Italian ice is delicious, especially the strawberry-mango. It's my weekend summer treat. I must applaud the staff for their politeness and patience. As you can imagine, customers want to sample almost every flavor. BEWARE- the tips on your credit card DON"T go the the staff. I plan to contact a reporter to see if they're interested in an investigative story. For this reason, I'm knocking down a star.
I love Italian ice. I was over the moon to find that it was available in more flavors than lemon and strawberry. I had mango and raspberry lemonade. I had the concoction of Italian ice, layered with vanilla custard. I was skeptical on adultrating the perfect food (Italian ice), I was wishing I had ordered the large. No picture I was eating it on the way to my seat and once again failed to get a picture.

My husband and I came here our first night in DC and ordered an Oreo mix off the poster/ad. It was great, came with the Italian ice in it. We came another time and ordered the same item, from the same person, and were given one without the ice. When I asked about it, they were rude and said I hadn't asked for the ice. However, we ordered exactly the same from the same person-I pointed to the ad and said I wanted the Oreo to order it. Very disappointed. No offer to correct it or anything, just charged us and sent is out the door.

The custard is like weird texture. Likes like a cool whip. Didn't like. However! That ice! Oh my! Got that Cotton Candy and Watermelon! The flavors are just so bold! This stuff is good! Will be seeing more of me! They don't skimp on flavor.
