I will start with this, I love Rose Ave.
I came in today at 10am and was deciding on a drink I wasn’t sure I would like because it might be too sweet. The cashier was genuinely kind and reassuring, and told me that if I didn’t like it, I could always change it. That made me feel comfortable trying something new.
Unfortunately, the drink did end up being too sweet for me, so I went back to the barista to ask if I could switch it to something else. The response I got was honestly kind of a bummer. She sighed loudly, exchanged dirty looks with another barista. She also tried to convince me the other drink would be even sweeter, which wasn’t even true. It made me feel embarrassed for asking, especially after being told it would be okay to change it.
She wouldn’t even look at me when I went back to pick it up and tell her thank you….
I still love this place and will continue to come back, but this experience was a big reminder that customer service matters just as much.

The line is almost always long here but it goes pretty quick. They’re pretty efficient, even if not the friendliest, but the pastries make a name for themselves. I also love the different flavored lattes. The ube and Saigon banana are my favorites. Everything is tasty and fresh and it’s what makes me coming back.

Yum! Yum! Yum! The Saigon banana latte was a wonderful tropical coffee treat. The gluten-free/vegan coconut mochi puffs were a perfect pairing, the right touch of sweet chewy goodness.

Came here after many rave reviews. Creative pastries and beverages with Asian twist. Paying premium for the chef creativity. Limited seating available with many carry out customers. With long line, have more registers available… unless waiting is simply the expectation. This is a bakery not quick service business model. I think business owner focus on the pastry offering instead.
My rating 5 as very satisfied

While the coffee shop serves coffee exclusively in paper cups on weekends, the necessity of eight employees behind the counter remains an unsolved riddle.

Love the pastries here. Just wish they had more seating available because the place is tiny!

Fantastic. Great pastries, great breakfast sandwiches, great coffee. Busy because they've earned it. The place rocks.
Small; some days getting a table is a blood duel of passive-aggressive posturing.

Incredibly high quality and unique baked goods some of the best donuts I’ve ever had
Would give 5/5, but I always get violent green diarrhea after having their sesame cookie. Only issue is it's so good I keep going back and keep getting diarrhea.
The best Ube bakeries in town. The name of the food actually matches the food. You can taste the ube or black sesame or truffle in their food richly, not just a hint of smell or flavor like other places. Their lattes are great but I love the Ube latte the most. I wish their business hours are more accommodating full time workers. I will return for more.

This is my favorite kind of place; creative, quiet, and friendly. They are crafting beautiful pastries with unique flavor combinations. I'm a person with an indefatigable sweet tooth but, ironically, I don't like things to be overly sweet. This place his the mark perfectly on that score. The black sesame cream in their donut was barely sweetened and right up my alley. The Thai Curry Tart was fragrant and savory. It was delicious. The hot mocha was not sweet in any way. It was very good. I travel a lot with work. This is just the kind of hidden gem I search out on my overnights. Two and a half thumbs up.
