Food was amazing. Fantastic spice and sauces. Lots of seafood options but we only had the scallop appetizer which was wonderful.
Eggplant and Lamb shank entrees were also fantastic.
Service was incredible. Everyone was really nice and right there when you needed something.

Richard and Angel were amazing! Great recommendations! Food was excellent and so were the drinks. Ask for their take on the margarita. Get the cod! Soo good.

The food was hit or miss. The vegetable korma was way too salty and too much cumin. Naan was greasy. Everything was over spiced with one note, salt or heat.

Very good food. We had the daal makhani and it was delicious. Smoky with a good texture.
The atmosphere here is nice but not overbearing. The staff were prompt and helpful.
Will be back

Great food that reflects Goan style cuisine. The service at the bar was outstanding.
The dining area was very noisy, too noisy for a quiet conversation. I wanted to pay using Apple Pay, and the server was hesitant. First he said the devices were in use, then not working. He asked to take my iPhone somewhere to make the transaction for me. Luckily, I had a physical card on hand. The restaurant should consider making diners aware there is no functional phone wallet reader (and to bring a physical card) as that is a norm across the restaurant industry now.

2 weeks in and obviously a brand new restaurant is going to have some hiccups. That being said, they ran out of one of our starters so we ended up trying the Cauliflower Bezule and it was so good! The food overall was delicious, we had the halibut and lamb shank as entrees and they did not disappoint. However I cannot leave out the desserts, roasted coconut ice cream (I mean I would go back for this alone) and some kind of chocolate brownie layered thing with a mint chocolate ice cream really surprised us. They went above and beyond service wise to overcome the app running out and the restaurant had a nice ambience and division of spaces that made it feel intimate. Therefore I’m giving this 5 stars across the board.

Let’s reset here. The reviews are from the previous restaurant and they’re rebranded to Malabar. The food is delicious and the services is great! Highly recommend their dal mahkni, lamb biryani and halibut.

I love this neighborhood restaurant. The food - the service - the ambience - is all worth making it a regular dining experience.

I Ordered the $35 pork chop cooked medium. It was small and thin. Was cooked very rare. I tried to eat around it a bit hoping it would work. But it was just way too rare. I asked to send it back. I assumed they’d cook me a fresh pork chop, which couldn’t cost them more than $5 at that portion size. Instead they put it back on the grill. Still came back rare. I assumed they’d remove it from the bill or at least discount it. Nope - full price. And 20% mandatory service charge. I feel bad - the place is clearly struggling. But they’re not going to make it work by trying to save a few bucks by giving the customer a horrible experience.

I've never written a review before, however I need to in order for action to be met hopefully and maybe a bit of constructive criticism for rosedale as a whole if they allow staff such as this new bartender valentine?; for other patreons to not experience this in the future. I usually sit at the bar twice a month on Fridays and Saturdays, taken care of by Walter and the other female bartender. However my last visit wasn't too great,10/25/25 actually if I'm being frank as of recent visit with my girlfriends last week 10/30/25 wasn't very satisfactory either, not to place blame but to give acknowledgement to management. She may have been a bit inebriated or in a bad mood, doubtful since her behavior was frequent, she speaks very loud and has a obnoxious laugh, especially if I'm sitting right in front of her, with little to no guests present for her to do so. I'm not sure if she's a bit inebriated from those two times I've visited, however, the way valentine tone is to other staff was disappointing to witness, the regular maître d’ who's always pleasant and walks around to assist costumers had to apologize to us the first time her tone was rude in front of guests, simply over a mispronunciation of her name? I didn't want to write this review because it is in poor taste however, when you witness someone's character in a negative way more than once it needs to be known. It will take me some time to visit again, the staff is all very lovely, the bartender Valentine needs better hospitality experience.

The atmosphere is beautiful and service was excellent unfortunately we did not like the food. Our family ordered two pizzas and a burger, and we weren’t pleased with any of them.

20% service fee
Let me repeat that
20% service fee
A nice waitress average food and a fair atmosphere are completely irrelevant with the 20% service fee.
I don’t recommend anybody eat at this restaurant until that is eliminated
