Rue Café is a neighborhood fixture with the sweetest, most accommodating staff (who know how to put together damn good playlists--I swear i'm on Shazam basically every time I visit).
The food is good, and unique in its offerings relative to much of the cafe hangouts/restaurants nearby. It also helps that the staff (and patrons) are overwhelmingly cute & seemingly queer ;)
10/10 would smile and let my gaze linger a couple seconds more than usual with the person handing me my order again <3

Ordered the couscous bowl. Was super fresh and tasty. Latte was perfectly sweet and balanced. Cafe environment is super cozy and clean too! Prices are reasonable as well. I would definitely support this cafe over chain restaurants. Definitely coming back here soon with friends.

Calm, cozy space great for working remotely or catching up with a friend. Strong WiFi, good coffee, decent food, comfortable but limited seating, just one bathroom.

Cute place, bad coffee (my flat white looked like a cappuccino with very burned milk)
One of the best
Rue Café is a total hidden gem! The space is bright, cozy, and has that perfect neighborhood café feel. The coffee is excellent — smooth, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The staff are super friendly and make you feel right at home. I tried a latte and a croissant, and both were amazing. It’s the kind of place you’ll want to visit again and again for good vibes and great coffee.

Coming here has become my Sunday ritual. Great coffee, great food, and delicious sweet treats. The atmosphere is great for reading and getting some light work done.

Do not get the breakfast panini. It was dry and lacking of any flavor. Coffee was fine.

It’s a nice little cafe but I didn’t like the staff defaulting every order to takeout without asking. Everyone sitting down inside was using single-use plastic which cheapened the place a lot.

The new Rue Cafe Bar is a beautiful addition to Petworth! The patio is full of plants, cool, and shaded. Plus they have non-alcoholic options!

I'm not a fan of the chicken salad sandwich, was more onions than chicken and the ratio of bread to chicken salad lacked. The chocolate mousse cake and tea is pretty good. Going to come by and try some of the other offerings, but this was a miss. The service was exceptional.

This place is amazing! The coffee is flavorful, and all the other drinks are delicious too. I have a dairy allergy, and the menu is adaptable to accommodate. Great spot for breakfast with a loved one!

Rue has been my go-to cafe for the last year or so, so I decided it’s way overdue for me to give them a review. I literally love everything about Rue - the coffee is delicious and I love all their seasonal drinks (though it’s always so hard to decide between getting the seasonal and my go-to lavender latte), the food is fireeee (get the avo turkey with spicy mayo! it’s so good 😭 oh and the parmesan/leek pastry is stupid good, as are like all their pastries), and all the staff are just beyond kind and wonderful. The space is also super cute and cozy. Absolutely my favorite cafe in the neighborhood and will be my go-to always.

This cute spot exudes friendly vibes and offers a variety of unique coffee options. The salmon bagel, and BLT were delicious
