I used to order from here a minimum of once a month. Butter chicken has been garbage last three orders. Tastes like cheap tomato sauce. Like the canned spaghetti-o level of cheap, too sweet, and over processed. May try again in a few months. But miss the quality, great staff, and on point flavors.

I ordered the Palaak Paneer (Spinach and Paneer) dish for takeout and the food was amazing. The naan was soft and the paneer dish was cooked to perfection. I loved the food and it was honestly one of the better restaurants in the DC area when it comes to quality.

Vegetarian options: They have a balanced menu, full of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, so they are taking everyone view's and lifestyles into account.

I ordered the lamb dish that came with rice, chickpeas, cucumbers and tomatoes and naan bread.

Lamb 4/5 - good flavor, most pieces were tender.
Rice 1/5 - cooked well, no flavor
Chickpeas - 2/5 - cooked well but tasted like tomatoes sauce and no other flavors
Naan - 0/5 tasted like plain pizza dough. I love naan and get it all the time so This was very disappointing. The food just did not taste authentic as many other Pakistani/indian places I’ve been to.

Based on the flavor profile of their food, I would not recommend.

My visit to Salt and Pepper Grill in Washington D.C. was a memorable and curious experience, marking my first foray into cooking in the United States' capital. Although the restaurant specializes in Indian cuisine, which is not necessarily typical of American cuisine, the food was a pleasant surprise. The quality of the dishes was exceptional, with sensational flavors that made me return to the restaurant several times. The kebab, in particular, stood out - a delight that, despite not being able to spell the name exactly, won me over again. I was accompanied by two friends, and together, we had the chance to try a variety of dishes, sharing and trying a little of each one.The location of the restaurant is very convenient, located on one of the transversal avenues, which made our access easier. We were received with efficient and friendly service, and the waiting time for the dishes was adequate. The ambiance, food quality and service all made for a very good dining experience that was definitely worth it.

Good Indian. They don’t really understand what mild means, so not the best choice to eat with kids or sensitive palettes. Never stood on a long line and food is reasonably priced.

I generally never write reviews, but the food from this place was so bad that I must. The butter chicken consisted of semi-cooked chicken pieces in tomato soup-gravy. The garlic naan seemed to be a good option when it arrived - but only 5 mins later, it turned rubbery. The aloo paratha was rubbery too, but worse than that, it was salt less. I literally ate parts of it with a salt shaker by my side. I’m not saying it’s the worst Indian meal I’ve had, but it’s definitely in the top 3. And I’m an Indian.

Ordered takeout. Solid price for great portion, fresh rice and delicious curry. I ordered the chicken vindaloo - tender chicken and incredibly tasty but very very spicy (as it should be) -beware.
