$300 meal for two people and only one of us was drinking. At that price point, I have high expectations. When we asked the server about the menu he said “are you familiar with Barcelona wine bar? We’re like them.” I can’t really imagine a worse set of words to use to describe a place that cost 100% more than Barcelona and is not 100% better. They sat us in the bar, despite having a reservation. The service was slow and distracted. We ended up paying with a QR code because we couldn’t get the server’s attention to bring us the check — they charged us $6 for using the QR code, lol. The food was good — and maybe if the front of house was better I would have given it four stars instead of three for the food, but it was not five star food. Wine list is mediocre. Not a great experience unfortunately.

Amazing food. Love the decorations. Service was wonderful.
We ordered drinks and 3 small plates - falafel, scallops, and beef tartare - and one main - the lamb. It was okay but the bill came to $300 dollars, way more expensive than the quality of the food or drink.
The drinks were especially overpriced for the taste at ~$20 each.
For this price I’d go to a one of the many excellent DC bib gourmands or highly rated cocktail bars

Went for me and my husband’s joint birthday dinner. I worked with George leading up and explicitly explained what our expectations were in regard to the menu and vibe. George informed us that he was going to give us the best spot in the restaurant under the DJ booth and that it was going to be so fun. When we arrived, there was no DJ, or any music actually. We asked when the DJ was going to start and we were informed that it was the off season and they don’t book DJs during the off season. After all the back and forth with George, we were expecting a fun party vibe, with music, drinks, and amazing service. The food was definitely very good (which is why I left 2 stars), but we were immediately turned off with the lack of atmosphere that we were promised (and paid for with our minimum of $5k+). Come to think of it, not really sure what our minimum was even for. After we expressed our complaints in person that evening, and after the fact over email to George, no one acknowledged or responded to us. For this reason, we will never be going back and would not recommend going here for an event. Do not trust the management here and book your event elsewhere!
