Shake Shack Union Station

We ordered 2 milkshakes on kiosk. My coffee milkshake was good. My husband’s banana pudding shake didn’t taste like banana. He had to wipe off the outside of his cup with napkins, because it was prepared so sloppily.

The area for customers, waiting for orders, is very crowded. It makes it difficult for others to get to the napkins and other assorted packets of ingredients for drinks and food.

The downstairs part of the restaurant appeared less clean than other restaurants in the Washington Union Train station.

I'm not sure why this location has such high reviews. I ordered ahead today and when I arrived to pick up my order there was a huge line, one person both packing orders and working the register and *not changing his gloves*, and one person making all the food (and poorly, because I later realized my burger order was missing the crunchy onions anyway, but that's neither here nor there, since I didn't end up eating it). From the pickup side of the counter, where I stood with the workers looking at me but not actually talking to me for several minutes, I could see literal layers of congealed cheese sauce on their cheese vat. Nothing seemed like it had been properly deep cleaned for a while. (Which is particularly gross because everyone who lives in DC knows Union Station has a rat problem -- food places *need to* be cleaning well each day.) I really should have asked for a refund right there before my burger came out -- I already knew I wasn't comfortable eating it given the state of the store and the workers not changing gloves. $16 straight in the trash, and I had to get something else for dinner.

Food ok. Atmosphere was poor just recently when these 3 men walked in who I didn’t like very much who left a sour taste in my mouth. I’d think twice about going back.

Good food and good price. Friendly staff, although a little slow. I recommend this place to eat well with a good value for money.

Please Stop Eating Here! Rats the size of cats roam this restaurant late at night. If you think I’m lying please go there when they’re closed and you will see the rats roaming around inside the shake shack. It’s disgusting

Shake Shack is so addicting. Love their malts! I wish there was one near Beavercreek, Ohio!

🟢 Green for go, go eat delicious, hot, savory goodness while you're running late on the train you have to get on in 5 minutes. 🫩

🍔 This specific location, (Union Station) delivered timeliness, tastyness and friendlniss. The price was a little big to the portion, but it was very deliciously juicy and I'm probably just way to fat. 😂

🤤 Clean, great vibe and very easy to find in the Union Concorse. Amazing location and delivery.😁

😋 BONUS: If you carry a presto card, you get 20% off the places to eat around here. Unfortunately for me, I saw the sign that said that too late. 🟢

This is Thee Atmosphere to step out of the “hustle” and enjoy time with a loved one and your luggage - all in your happy place while waiting for your train to board.

Your ORDER YOU SELECT…. and the Staff cooks and prepares your selections in perhaps a half an hour because this is so very popular. There is nothing like this. And, the Shakes are tantalizingly awesome!

You can even dine in a carved out section in the Station’s massive hall if you like to people watch.

Well, enjoy your stay. We sure did!

It has two levels so plenty of seating and it’s just a good shake shack overall so I have no complaints

Of course the atmosphere will be a little suffocating due to union station being so overpopulated all the time, but the service and the food i got was amazing. I was barside and had lunch before the jays game and i was treated so quickly and attentively along with a few laughs from the jokes the man told us.

Tried the Shake Shack at Union Station and was pleasantly surprised by their new hot dogs — tasty and a great value while on promotion. Ordering online was super convenient, and the food was ready on time. The in-store pickup area could use a bit more organization.

Skip. Please skip. Service was so slow. Food order was wrong. Then waited another 15 min for them to make the food we ordered and she was pissed at me for asking her to make what I ordered. Crazy work lol
