First time having shake shack, the food was fast & delicious. Derrick the cashier was friendly & professional. The restaurant was clean , the outside tables were wobbly, but for a city restaurant this place absolutely fantastic.

The food was fantastic. The burger had the taste and texture of "real meat" as opposed to this typical fast food patty. Chicken nuggets rivaled Chick fil a. Fries were super crispy - my new favorite fast food fry. The chocolate dairy free shake was reminiscent of a Wendy's frosty.
This location was under construction when I went - the front door blocked off and loud construction noise coming from the back.
During my visit, some employee behavior made me feel uncomfortable. One employee was outside and tapped on the window in front of me as I ordered from a kiosk. He motioned that he wanted the attention of the employees behind the counter. None looked up from their work. When he came back inside, he was complaining animatedly about with another worker concerning a vehicle outside.

Waited for milkshakes 30 mins and had to leave without ?. They weren’t that busy. But they like chatting and hanging out. Maybe they just don’t want to make two milkshakes :)

The guys who work here were trying to lock the door 15 minutes before the restaurant actually closed. The entire place was in disarray. And they tried to pretend they weren’t doing it? Like I wouldn’t, you know, notice.
This place is awesome!! We had an issue ordering online in advance and the team was amazing. When we arrived, they fixed the problem with a smile and we had some good laughs. Even when we made one custom food item in our group difficult, they accommodated us, again with smiles and fun conversation. This will be the first place we come back to eat next trip to DC. Thanks Shake Shack crew!!
