As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, finding a welcoming and vibrant space to unwind and connect with fellow queer folk can sometimes feel like a challenge. That's why I'm beyond grateful for Shakers--a true gem nestled in the heart of Washington, D.C. Shakers isn't just your average bar--it's a thriving community hub that offers something for everyone. From lively drag performances to laid-back outdoor patio happy hours, there's never a dull moment at Shakers. Whether you're looking to sip on expertly crafted cocktails inspired by their unique mechanism or indulge in some delicious food offerings, this place has you covered. One of the things I love most about Shakers is its commitment to inclusivity and diversity. The bar's vibrant atmosphere is a testament to its dedication to creating a safe and welcoming space for people of all gender identities and sexual orientations. Whether you're a seasoned regular or a first-time visitor, you'll immediately feel at home among the friendly staff and fellow patrons. But Shakers isn't just about good drinks and a lively ambiance--it's also a place for meaningful community engagement. From thought-provoking discussions to family-friendly events like Drag Story Hours, Shakers is more than just a bar--it's a space where important conversations happen and connections are made. Having visited Shakers multiple times, I can say with confidence that it never disappoints. Whether you're chatting with friends in the open space or belting out your favorite tunes during karaoke night, there's always something exciting happening at Shakers. In conclusion, if you're looking for a fun, inclusive, and vibrant LGBTQIA+ bar in D.C., look no further than Shakers. Trust me, you won't regret it. So grab your friends, mark your calendars for one of their fantastic event nights, and prepare for an unforgettable experience at Shakers. Very inclusive bar with events all week - karaoke, drag, etc. The back atrium is really nice for a big group. The back patio is small but probably super nice in the summer. Drinks were good but there is no HH. Plenty of bathrooms. Seems like they could use some more bartenders but overall the lines moved. There is no step to get into the bar and it's very open for mobility. LGBTQ+ bar!

First time at this place. We came early to pre game for the night. Loved that they had a DJ from 5-9pm we watched the game and had delicious drinks. Definitely a must stop.

I guess their $25 double vodka Red Bull has been the most expensive alcoholic drink I have ever purchased…and it ain’t even a craft cocktail, ain’t even enough to make me projectile vomit AND not in San Francisco. But the backyard space is superb.

All fun and games until you have to wait 30 mins to pee.

My wife, her service dog, and I got kicked out of our seats because the owners wanted to sit there.

5 stars across the board, my new favorite gay bar in DC. Bartenders very good at their craft, it has food (in collaboration w/ Whitlow’s), and has a great vibe. Music good but not so loud you can’t hear the people you’re with, and the options for where to be (indoor, indoor patio, outside patio) are all very nice and nice to have for varying weather. I’m impressed, and will definitely be back.PS, the staff is hot. What? I may be a lesbian but I have *eyes* :)Note: No one in pic bc I came right when it opened for the day.

I visited this LGBTQ Bar as one of my dear friends is a performer in drag. The sound system is great! They have a full bar, very clean and elegantly designed!
