I had been looking forward to trying this place for brunch because I liked the idea of the $35 RW special where you get an appetizer and either a dessert or a brunch drink. The location on the water is really nice and I’ve eaten here before with clients for dinner and drinks and thought the menu was interesting. This time though I was pretty disappointed.
The deviled eggs were bland. The fried chicken was cooked well but the greens that came with it were overdressed and incredibly salty. I asked for a replacement and the second plate of greens were just as salty so I didn’t eat them.
The service from the bartender was also underwhelming. It was cold, not welcoming, and it took a little bit to get started with service. I came alone and asked to be seated outside. There were quite a few empty tables out there but I was told I couldn’t be accommodated because they had a lot of tables expected between 12 and 12:30. When I left at 12:45 and several tables were still empty and untouched which left a poor impression.
All in all the experience was underwhelming and I don’t know that I would come back for brunch.

Yummmm… It’s DC Restaurant week and what a delicious meal. Kiss - Olan
Dropped in after the Nats beat the Phillies. Deliciousness. The Devil Eggs were awesome and the Amish Fried Chicken was brilliant! “Chris” was our server who was superb and on point. The desert he recommended was special! I will be back!

Mind blown. This tasting menu plus wine pairing was worth every penny and more. Thoughtful and fun but not overwhelming service and fresh seasonal food that was clearly thought out and one of the best mezcal cocktails I’ve ever had.

Love this restaurant. Excellent food and wonderful attentive staff. A very relaxed and casual atmosphere. Terrific wine list too. Just great all round.

First time trying this spot and went for a wine dinner and it wasn't bad. Didn't like being seated outside unexpectedly as guests were eaten alive by mosquitos throughout the experience, and only a few degrees hotter would've made the experience uncomfortable. Might give it a second shot, but staff should make sure if they try to compensate waiting time with extra pours at a another event that they don't skip over anybody like myself.

Has brunch there. Service was excellent and French Onion soup is the best in town!

It is extremely rare that I leave a review, but this experience was uniquely disappointing. The server was new and made several mistakes with our bill, which led to us being overcharged. Everyone makes mistakes, especially when they are new, but what really frustrated me was the lack of accountability or effort to make things right. No apology, no accommodation--just a shrug and the check.
For an establishment that prides themselves on being on the Michelin List 2 years ago (lol), charges about $40+ for every entree, and automatically adds 20% gratuity, I expect no mistakes, or at the very least, an attempt to fix the problem.
The food itself was nothing special. Very normal, overpriced dishes -- typical of Navy Yard.
The hoe cake that came with the fried chicken was good. Unfortunately, that was the highlight of the meal. Customer service matters, and this place missed the mark. I won't be returning.

Everything we ate was fantastic. Had a group of 8 and staff were attentive and provided us with an excellent service. Get the apps as well as chicken and crab cakes! Will definitely make this a stop whenever I’m in town!

Had a great experience here! The service was excellent, and every dish we ordered was delicious. You can tell there's real passion behind the food and the craft. Our group loved everything we tried, and the drinks were perfectly made. Highly recommend!

We went for Sunday brunch. The food was slow to come out even though there were not many customers. When the food finally arrived, it was lackluster. The duck fat potatoes had no flavor. The bartender was rude. Fortunately (for the restaurant), they automatically build in a 20% tip.
Edit: My second visit was opposite my first, quicker service but my hash brown was as cold, and the vegetable hash was barely warm Only 3-4 pieces of carrots and cauliflower, with the rest being potatoes. Won’t be returning for brunch again.
Great food, service at snails pace
Booked a brunch reservation for opening, and were promptly seated. Friendly staff and only a couple people other than us in the restaurant.
Unfortunately, I had to flag down the young server assigned to our table every time we wanted a coffee refill, and our food, while excellent, took over an hour to arrive. Other parties were seated, ate and left in that time span.
The food was so good I plan on coming back again just in case it was a one-off day for the crew, but even when not in a rush, we were starting to wonder what was happening.
Great team. However, the menu doesn’t have a lot of variety. Also, don’t order the lamb. Highly overpriced with barely any food on your plate. That main was really disappointing after having really good starters.
Went there to celebrate my daughter’s birthday yesterday. Great location and nice ambience. My starter was great and the reason the food is getting 2 stars. The chicken was so/so…on a bed of lentils and a giant size baked corn bread thing. My other daughter got lamb….for $58 it was totally not what she expected. She was not hot on its taste either. The birthday girl got the chicken too. We were totally underwhelmed. The devilled eggs were ok but I felt they needed more oomph…or something in addition. The best thing was the sugar snap pea salad. That was indeed worthy of its price and taste. The rest.. just mehhh…The champagne was most ingenious.. barely 2 sips. In essence we felt a whole lot of money for a whole lot of nothing. We will NOT be going back there. We spent approximately $100 apiece.
