The food tastes very good. I was surprised there weren't more people dining in here, but whatever. it made service very quick. Falafel tastes really good, and I really like how they package up their sandwiches. I do wish the pita was warmed (it seemed cold), but everything else was great. The fries have a unique spice on them which gave it a flavor I never had (in a good way).

One of the best plant-based food options, the place is cozy and clean.

Fast vegan food joint. Had the original burger, it was good and everything was fresh. I think it could definitely do without the tomato paste as it over powered the other flavors. The mushroom pita was also good. No need for the extra spice sauce as it has plenty of flavor. Good portions.

A fairly contact-free vegan and waste-conscious restaurant. You order using their touchscreen kiosks and pick up your food when ready - I feel like this saved on wait time and made for fast service. The food was delicious, which should be no surprise as middle eastern food has been doing veggie options for generations, and is a great choice! I appreciated that they celebrated the food they were offering, and weren't trying to "replace" a meat product. I got the regular falafel; Pita was a little small, but the bread and ingredients were fresh. Ambiance is average - nothing special but I appreciated the outdoor seating option.

Worst falafel shop experience. I've been exploring DC and the places it has to offer over the last 6 months, as I've just recently moved here. I can without a doubt say this is one of the worst restaurants I've been to so far. Food was dangerously undercooked and had me feeling nauseous for most of the day, but the service was even worse than the food. Was wearing a black and green hoodie and my shoes had a red nike check on them, and the waitress thought I was wearing Palestinian colors (even if I was, not a valid reason to be a racist) and accused me of being a "terrorist." Had been halfway thru checkout and she tried to uncharge me ??? Anyway, 0/10 experience. When I asked her to make it to go bc I didn't feel comfortable eating there she said I should go back to my country (I'm half-Morroccan) and then proceeded to hand me the worst food ive ever tasted in my time in DC.

I had passed by this place many times and was always interested to check it out.My first meal was at home through a delivery app. The food was good. It was fresh and clean. The next day, I ended up heading to the restaurant to dine in.Ordering is simple because they have touch screens available where one can order and pay (credit card, mobile pay…). The interior is simple and enough for dining quick on your way to another plan. The second time, the quality was still good and everything was tasty.I’ll certainly continue heading here regularly. Thank you.

We’re finishing our meal right now. The food is delicious. We loved the roasted cauliflower and rice. This is a great place to eat, and it’s easy to order to stay or to go.

We opted for takeout and chose Shouk for its consistently satisfying flavors. I ordered the Bam bam falafel bowl, while Joe went for the 2 Way eggplant bowl without almond feta. The pomegranate-infused tomatoes added a delightful touch to the meal, making it one of my favorites. Beyond the delicious taste, Shouk's dishes leave you feeling both satisfied and energized. GF and vegetarian, so delicious!

Great fresh food -comfort flavors, veggie bases. Love the sauces and wanted to try everything on the menu.

Great alternative food and a friendly team! If you like a delicious, healthy, and nutritious meal, Shouk is a must-try. Bring back the vegan sausage!

2 Way Eggplant was about the healthiest and most delicious vegetarian dish I could hope for. (Eggplant seared on a hot grill, creamy baba ganoush, almond feta, smashing potatoes, pomegranate-infused tomatoes, black lentils, quinoa, greens.) I loved the almond feta in the middle that you can shmear onto whatever you want, and pretty much anything can be mixed -- plus the hot sauce was tasty, though definitely not needed since the natural flavors speak for themselves.Staff were super friendly. Great music. I savored the delicious Malachi dessert (Coconut milk pudding, raspberry syrup, rose water, toasted coconut, mint) on the road since my meter was expiring. Pictures of a market (hence the name shoulk/shuk) with both Hebrew and Arabic signs, maybe a nod to solidarity. Glad I stumbled across this place and will be back for more soon. I seldom write reviews but this inspired me.Vegetarian options: Delicious eggplant, babaganoush, lentils, quinoa
