Great neighborhood bar. Everybody knew everybody. Get the Ethiopian tacos. Seriously some of the best tacos I've had. Blown away. Cocktails were 10/10.

Fabulous bar with an enclosed back patio. The chicken quesadillas are my favorite. The bar is beautiful with it's exposed brick and modern industrial vibes and the owner is super friendly! Indoor space is on the smaller side but great for some intimate drinks. For larger groups I'd recommend coming in good weather so you can sit on the patio. I believe they do free comedy nights on Wednesdays, or at least they used to. A great neighborhood bar with lots of locals

stopped in for one drink with a friend and really loved it! the spicy marg was delicious (i think it was $12 so not super cheap but normal for dc). our server was super friendly too! the vibe of the place is really chill, i think it would be a good date spot. but it's a fun local place to grab a drink or two!

Smitty’s is everything a neighborhood bar should be. Has a bunch of regulars, usually the same bartender, and cares about its customers. They’ve let me put my music on out back during the summer and given out free scotch during an exciting Arsenal win just because. I’d never say no to a Smitty’s trip.
Went here for the first time recently and it was lovely! Friendly staff, good drinks, and the fire pits in the back made for a really nice atmosphere.

This neighborhood gem needs more recognition! Stop by for lunch and drinks and it was amazing! Had The Smitty Burger's with fries and it was excellent! The Tej was strong and my husband loved the Dirty Martini and the Cardamom Old Fashion. We will return!

I am incredibly disappointed that I hadn't find this bar sooner. I was just there last night for the first time, and I loved the atmosphere, service and people. Although it is smaller compared to a lot of bars in DC, Smitty's gives off a cozy vibe because it isn't loud, and I could actually have a conversation. It also has a back patio that has multiple heat lamps for when the weather gets too cold.The service was excellent. All the servers and bartenders were as nice as could be, and even brought drinks out to the back deck for us. It felt like drinking in a friend's living room than at an actual bar (don't worry, it's small, but definitely a lot bigger than your friend's living room).Their tacos were incredibly delicious and affordable. I came hungry and after a few of those delectable tacos, I was properly satiated and ready to drink. Speaking of which, the drinks were strong and affordable and definitely unique compared to other places.There are a lot of bars in DC, and I have been to many of them. Smitty's definitely ranks up there. It may not be polished or fancy - but you don't need that when you're just looking for a relaxing, fun night with friends. Even if you're by yourself, I'd still recommend coming here. You'll make friends before you know it! Just watch out for Simba because he is an super cute dog who will distract you from drinking because all you will want to do is pet him!
