This place was one of the most recommended places to go to in DC. It fell off, though real bad. The food is overcooked. There was one person working, and she was moving extra slow because she was in a lot of pain.

If you’re balling on a budget then it doesn’t get any better than this! Great service from an old lady, people call mama, single handedly running the shop. And the prices can’t be beat
10/10 recommend. Menu has hardly changed in all its years and the prices are still incredibly reasonable. Wings and mumbo sauce are authentic. As a native of the DMV her sauce was on point. A little old lady helped us out and prepared our food for me and my wife and it was phenomenal. I don’t know what these other people did to get kicked out because we walked right in, told her what we wanted, paid for our food and went on our way. She even provided us with extra mumbo sauce at no extra charge. Great spot to stop at and grab a bite to eat, or dinner. Great spots outside to sit and eat and enjoy the DC neighborhood as well.

This was my first time visiting Smokey's, and I truly must say that the chicken and the wedges are the best tasting I have ever had. Now I live in laurel and will have NO problem driving to Smokey's in DC. GO GET YOU A PLATTER FROM HERE. IT IS WORTH EVERY SINGLE PENNY THAT YOU SPENT. ??????

After I paid for my food I respectfully said the price she charged me was a lil steep the old Asian lady started yelling at me disrespecting me saying well then don't come back don't come back and the place is not even clean.
