I had a very disappointing experience with the food. Neither the fish taco nor the chicken burrito tasted authentic. The fish in the taco was so unappetizing that I had to spit it out. Additionally, the chicken in the burrito was dry with very little of it in the wrap, this a 80% rice, 19.5% vegetables ( onion, beans, and lettuce), .5% chicken.

I ordered from this restaurant on Uber Eats today, September 6th, 2025 @ 3:49pm from the DuPont Circle location. The food and delivery were terrible. My order took almost 2 hours for it to arrive (not the restaurant's fault, but definitely UberEats and the delivery driver's fault). I couldn't eat part of my order (the queso that came with the chips) because it was perishable and went bad. The chicken burrito was very dry and bland. They also didn't include the sour cream, lettuce or pico de gallo that I requested. I would never order from this place ever again.
Best choice around Washington Convention Center!

I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. From the moment we walked in, the customer service was unwelcoming. We waited a few minutes with no greeting or acknowledgment. The girl at the grill didn’t even turn around to say hello, and Danilo, who eventually took our order, was extremely unprofessional—no smile, no greeting, just a cold attitude that made us feel like we were bothering him.
I originally asked for Birria tacos, but Danilo told me I’d have to wait about 10 minutes because the grill was busy cooking chicken. I ended up ordering a burrito instead. What shocked me most was that the woman cooking the chicken was also eating at the grill while preparing food. That raised major concerns for me about cleanliness and food safety.
When I asked Danilo if the horchata was refillable, he didn’t even answer—just moved his face like I was annoying him. The food was just okay, certainly not worth the $50 we spent on two meals. For that price, I expect much better service and professionalism.
The restaurant wasn’t even busy, and now I understand why. I won’t be coming back, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Terrible customer service and a poor overall experience.

Just had an a really great $5 Taco from this joint. I'm generally fearful of most places carne asada but took the leap anyway and am ecstatic I did. Great toppings, great filling & a really good tortilla make great food. Only complaint is the tortilla did get a bit soggy, but just eat it quicker...... amiright?
We were drawn into this restaurant by the $2.75 tacos for taco Tuesday. These were pretty uninspired tacos, but they were fine. We both got two carne asada tacos and they came with two toppings and a salsa. I tried both the spicy and medium salsas. The spicy wasn't very spicy. The medium was better because it was more flavorful (obviously not more spicy).
The real crime here was that they call themselves a Mexican restaurant and they don't even have corn tortillas 🤌.
Can't complain too much about a $2.75 taco. But I probably won't be hitting them up again any time soon.
Had a great carne asada burrito here. Service was quick and kind and burrito definitely hit the spot. Would recommend.
lol they got bugs. no bueno!

Good tacos clutch spot for a quick bite that's not gonna break the bank.
Good fast food Mexican restaurant near the Washington Convention Center. Quick service, good fish tacos, indoor and patio seating, and reasonable prices compared to most of the local restaurants.
So I've been going here for a long time for their Taco Tuesday special where I get big, delicious tacos for only $2.50 but they went up to $2.75. Ok, not a big deal. However, I ordered 3 tacos the other day at $2.75 each which = $8.25 plus tax at .06% comes to $8.745 but somehow the male cashier (who I never saw before) charged me $9.06. Even with a 5 cent bag tax, my order still shouldn't have been more than $8.80. I even looked at the cashier and asked if that was right and he grinned and said, "yeah, you ordered 3 tacos". I didn't question him because I didn't have my cell phone out to do the math so I paid and left. If the cashier overcharged me on purpose, then I'm sure he's doing it to other customers so be ready to have your calculators ready!! Anyway, I saw an ad on facebook later that night for a new restaurant on H St. NE called Taqueria Los Perez that offers a better Taco Tuesday deal than Sol Mexican Grill at $1.75 so I'll check them out next Tuesday.
