I went to the bar and the entire place was fairly empty. My friend and I were minding our own business, talking, having a beer and sharing some food. This woman one stool to the right of me who arrived way after we did, started harassing me for no reason (for whatever reason I bothered her even though she could have sat anywhere else). She threw a couple under the breath insults at me and stared me down a few times. I never said a word to her or interacted with her at all. The kicker is she was sitting with and chatting with an employee of Solace! And the employee seemed to have noticed and didn’t care or stop her. I found it extremely uncomfortable and we left shortly after. Personally, I don’t see myself going back if they allow that behavior to happen.

My wife and I have been coming here for a long time! One of the best sports bars in the navy yard area and honestly in DC. The atmosphere, staff, vibe, food and drinks are amazing. Great for family and friends! Def try this place out!
Great hangout in Navy Yard. Delicious and creative food (get the tots) and delicious beer. Friendly staff. Fun place to hang out!

Look, I'm a huge sports fan. I like American football as much as the next red-blooded person to my left. But when my favorite sport Zorbing is on, I NEED the bar to show it. To heck with the fact that its a Sunday afternoon and I'm in a jam packed bar with a bunch of dudes in jerseys, just change the channel away from the Dallas Commander Giants or whatever team is on -- I need that screen to be filled with the beautiful sight of people in giant inflatable plastic bubbles gleefully bouncing down a hillside. But when I politely fought my way to the front of the crowd and *finally* got the attention of the bartender taking drink orders of the people around me, he REFUSED to change the big screen so I could watch my Zorbs. I tried explaining to him that James Duggan of Cork, the fastest Zorber currently zorbing, was going to make an appearance, but that too was not enough to sway him. Then I noticed there were a measly 5 minutes left in the football game, barely any time at all! The bartender at this place could've easily changed the channel for me and missed five stupid minutes of football so I could watch MY sport, but noooo, apparently it would've "upset the people around me" because "they were watching the football game that was on" and if I was "patient" then he'd "turn on my show after the football game was over." That sated me a bit and told him he'd have to purchase a New Zealand based Zorbing channel to play my sport on the tv which would be simple to install and only cost $89/week plus an initial $199 for setup (a steal if you ask me considering the exchange rate). At this point the GM came over to speak to me since I was leaning across the bar attempting to speak more clearly with the bartender and was having to grip his shirt for balance as I was nearly falling into the well. The GM politely removed my clenched hands from the bartenders shirt and led me by the hand to a quieter corner of their lovely establishment. He then pulled up the Zorbing championship on his phone (hes a fan too!) and let me watch with him; he even brought me some complimentary fried oreos and tater tots (their orbiest shaped foods) and they were delicious. Their GM confided in me that they *have* to show football and even have a strict viewing schedule down to which tvs at what times etc. because "that's what the people want to see," but deep down he knows Zorbing is where it's really at. The talent of people like Steve Camp and Keith Kolver could never be matched by people like Tom Brady or Saquon Barkley (who apparently just went to a better team? idk, I don't follow closely enough). All I know is that when I walked into Solace Outpost, I was in the mood for some Zorbing and, while I didn't see it on the big screen, that small act of kindness and solidarity shown to me by the GM meant more to me than all the giant inflatable bouncing balls in New Zealand. I truly did find my Solace.

Customer service is terrible especially when busy. Claim to be a soccer bar but refused to play the women’s soccer playoff game because American football was on. Half the bar was dressed in women’s soccer gear and they still refused. I asked two bar tenders and each of them just said “No” when asked if they could put the game on. Then the general manager told me “we will only ever have football on the TVs when it’s on.” I told him I will go to a bar that will play women’s sports next time and he didn’t say anything.

Love this place. Friendly staff and great environment. Happy to find my "Stretford End".
Would be nice if they had a better brunch menu ( omelets, bagels...etc)

We came in to grab a quick bite and a few beers before flying out back home, and wow, what a great time!
We ordered the crispy chicken thighs and the chili cheese tots and holy shit; I'm never going to be able to eat fried chicken the same way again! We got the regular thighs but I REALLY wanna try the spicy now! Don't pass them thighs up yall, gamechanger!
My bf got the malty Christmas-y ale which was a little sweet bit still great. His sister got an IPA, she loved it. And I had their cider which was unfiltered! My favorite kind of cider.
Our bartender was Ryan and he was great. Conversation, yes. Not pushy, yes. Charming? Hell yeah😉
Thanks for a great final experience in DC, Solace!

Fun sports bar
Beers are beers, nothing to go crazy for but I’m not a heavy beer drinker. Come here for the food, which is really good. I would consider this more of a pub than a bar given they make proper food which won’t cost you an arm and a leg

I’ve always enjoyed Solace and will continue to come back, but my recent experience with Ryan S. was disappointing. I ordered two drinks, and his attitude was indifferent and unprofessional the entire time. After waiting for quite some time, I had to close my tab with another bartender because Ryan was too busy serving someone else and didn’t seem interested in helping me at all. Thankfully, the other bartenders were great, and one even apologized on Ryan's behalf, clearly aware of the situation.
