I was really looking forward to visiting this place after seeing such high reviews, especially since I drove 30 minutes to get there. My family and I tried the pastries, but unfortunately, they were dry and hard, lacking the soft, buttery, and flaky texture one would expect.
As for the drinks, my brother appreciated that the syrups were homemade, but the flavors were underwhelming. He described his latte as tasting watery. I opted for the hot chocolate since I avoid caffeine, though I know chocolate contains some. To my surprise, it had a similar effect to drinking a regular cup of coffee, which is concerning given my health issues that restrict caffeine intake and not to mention the barista messed up my modification for milk alternative so who knows what other errors are happing in the mixing process.
I've been enjoying hot chocolate from various cafes this winter, but this one left me feeling jittery, which was quite unsettling. Additionally, the hot chocolate itself tasted watered down. Overall, I can't recommend this place, as I believe there are better options out there to explore.

Update: 4 hours later and I’m still jittery from a hot chocolate.

Incredible little café with an outstanding pastry selection and some of the best coffee available in DC! This hole-in-the-wall spot is located in the heart of Adams Morgan, where space is limited but the vibrancy and vibes are not. Soleluna adds to the cool, artsy energy of the neighborhood with their warm, friendly staff, unique assortment of pastries, and awesome Ecuadorian coffee. The coffee has genuinely never missed; I love the beans themselves, so I normally opt for an americano or a latte, but they also have a ton of homemade syrups that are just absolutely incredible. Whether you're a bitter or a sweet coffee drinker, Soleluna has you covered!

They also have a fun selection of pastries, including fruity, tropical options like their guava or passionfruit croissant, or their mango danish. If something savory is a bit more your speed, they also have a classic ham and cheese croissant, everything bagel danish, and outstanding leek quiche. I usually go for something classic, like their standard croissant or pain au chocolat, but everything -- from the basics to the specialty -- are perfectly executed, phenomenally flaky, and 100% delicious.

The shop is quite small, so, while there's a couple of small tables available outside, you're most likely going to have to take your order to go. There's barely enough space for the line to wrap around inside of the café, but I promise both the wait and the hassle of finding a new spot to enjoy your treats is completely worth it.

I was visiting from MD and saw this coffee shop and really wanted to try it. Let me just say the service was impeccable; the staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure every customer felt welcome. The croissants were flaky, buttery, and freshly baked to perfection. As for the coffee, it was rich and flavorful, providing the perfect complement to the pastries. Overall, Soleluna offers a cozy atmosphere and high quality food and coffee drinks, making it a must visit spot for coffee lovers in DC. Not to mention their impressive way of making coffee and pastries <3

My sisters and I got 3 iced caramel lattes, 2 danishes, and 3 croissants and everything was just wow!! Not to mention the outstanding service, the cashier was very friendly and had a beautiful welcoming smile on her face at all times. Will definitely be coming back again and suggesting it to everyone who’s visiting DC :)

Great spot, with delicious coffee and pastries, and friendly staff, however, there is limited seating. Coffee is very reasonably priced, especially for the area (this is DC, after all), and pastries are a tad much, but the quality is fantastic, so it at least makes sense.

Hands down the best coffee shop in the city. The prices are extremely reasonable especially for the quality. They don’t upcharge for plant-based milk or sizes, so the menu is really straightforward. They make a host of delicious pastries in-house. They also sell whole bean coffee for a very low price compared to most other roasters. I only wish they had more space to sit!

I spent a week at the TD line Hotel and in the morning I had breakfast at Sole Luna. A very welcoming place with a good espresso and excellent pastries. Nice and friendly staff! 😊👍🌻

Soleluna is a gem! They bake everything in house, and I love to see gorgeous pastry dough being rolled out. The barista staff are all wonderful and always seem to be in a good mood. I’m a bit obsessed with their current seasonal drink - a cookie butter iced latte.
Love the music too!

When this is place is on it’s great, but unfortunately it’s very inconsistent. Sometimes the lattes are great other times the barista doesn’t add the whole shot or barely any syrup. Pastries are the best when fresh, but sometimes they are quite stale and seem from the day before. Be prepared to speak up if it’s not right.

The coffee is excellent, and the pastries are delicious—perfect for a quick treat. The veranda has a cozy vibe with three tables, though sitting outside can be noisy due to the main road. Inside, seating is limited to just two tables, so it’s often best to grab your coffee and pastry to go. Keep in mind, there’s no table service.
