Everything was phenomenal. 100% worth the wait in the weekend rush, too! I had the chorizo, the rosemary-fig tart, and the peach-sesame kouign-amann. Life-changing. Every bite.
After a bite of their kouign-amann, I threw away the (more expensive) quiche/pastry I'd grabbed from Eastern Market and replaced them with Souk's. Serious upgrade.
I was on 8th Street on my way to get a bagel and cream cheese near Eastern Market, desperately seeking breakfast. I saw the name Souk, on a shield, the design around the name, and someone ordering something from the window. I made a U-turn, parked my car right in front of it and went up to the window to order something. The employee was shy, extremely friendly, polite, and professional. The restaurant is cozy with a drool-worthy baked goods case and serves great coffee, including the maple latte. The staff is extremely nice and helpful, making it a place worth visiting for the vibes, coffee, and food. Souk participates in "Too Good to Go", a program that offers discounted meals near closing time to reduce food waste. Overall, Souk offers delicious and unique pastries, making it a worthy indulgence.
