First I want to say Chris and Page were a delight when I visited this shop! It was super busy and they handled all the customers with patience and grace. I ordered the lamb patty which was soooooo good. I also got the maple latte and this was also a great choice! Great for the vibes, coffee, and food! Highly recommend ❤️

The woman working the register obviously hasn’t had a job before. It’s the only excuse I can think of. Wildly poor experience. She didn’t know how to ring up a coffee.

Souk was such a delight! The pastries and coffee were wonderful! There are only a few barstools for dine-in, so it’s easiest to order to go.

Not the best croissants I've tried, but not the worst either. Rather mediocre. If you live next door it's worth a walk, but it's not worth a trip.
My biggest surprise/disappointment was the fact that prices are not posted.
Why not to let people estimate how much they going to spend? Unclear what is the reason for that. Is it even legal?

We love our neighbors at Souk, we go every couple of days to treat our staff! I highly recommend this place, everyone is extremely nice and helpful. Its the best food/pastry/edible delight you can have to improve your day!

Coffee beverages are great, iced teas and Matcha are excellent. pastries....
I like the atmosphere but the only decent pastry I had was the black sesame kouign-amann. I wished there were plain breton pastries to be able to compare but there are only flavored quign-amann.
Bad:
Ginger scone -the only discernable and overpowering flavor was baking soda.

Cardamom bun had only a hint of cardamom and the dough was not properly baked. It was still raw.

Pistachio quign-amann was too compact

Have not tried the croissants but frankly, I am reluctant

Generous idea and flavorings but overall bad baking.

A note about my ratings. I've lived in France so the standards bar is what it is . I compare the pastries at Souk with those in the area though. Better bakeries - BreadFurst in NW DC(they used to do quign-amann but not anymore) for scones and Tout de sweet (French pastry chef) in Bethesda would be the go to for the breton quign-amann

Sweet Lobby moved to this location and the rating is reflective of Sweet Lobby and the communication/guidance challenges as opposed to this business.
