They are completely fake and scammers

What a great experience during my visit today. I had read about the business and definitely wanted to visit while visiting DC this weekend. I had the pleasure to meet Tia of TeTe’s Butter Co., such a sweet soul. The ambiance, decor, scents that greet you when you walk in is very calming. I will tell everyone to support. Great reasonable family lunch! Good selection of healthy food and very reasonably priced. Check the building entrance as construction is taking place and maps may provide a wrong entrance.

To add to the April 2023 review, the cafeteria is NOT what it was before CoVID. The many stations in the cafeteria are no longer operating at all. There is a very small hot food station that is sold by the pound. The day we went the options were mashed potatoes, bbq meatballs, egg rolls, fried rice, carrots, mac 'n' cheese, and one other item that was all gone. The other choice is the grill where you can get chicken tenders, burgers, cheesesteak, fries or onion rings. There was a very friendly guy who went out of his way to give us the best experience possible. He also explained that there is a large mall-like area in the basement that they compete with which has multiple restaurants but it is only accessible to employees.

If you're reading this review, you're likely researching lunch options close to the National Mall or Tidal Basin. That's what I did before our trip. The cafeteria was listed by several YouTubers as an insider tip for conquering the national mall. With a full day out there it seemed like a great idea. . I planned a stop here for lunch after a good bit of walking around the tidal basin for the cherry blossoms. Everyone's feet were beginning to hurt and bellies were empty so we set off for the USDA headquarters. The entrance is along Independence in between the two arches At 1:30 After clearing security and getting temporary badges, my group was informed that they'd be closing at 2 instead of 3. When we entered it was painfully obvious that 95% of the offerings were gone. Entire sections were already broken down and spotless and there wasn't a single line cook anywhere to be seen. The only food to be had was a basket of chicken tenders and a couple of fries that were under a heat lamp for who knows how long. Then some tired looking fried chicken, potatoes, and cheesy pasta. There were also a couple of cold sandwiches in a fridge section that would soon be destined for the trash can. The mashed potatoes were flavorless and nobody had more than 2 bites of their pasta. Sure the sushi and other stuff may have been great at noon but this was a review of our experience at 1:30. Should've went to the African American cafeteria instead. The food was terrible, we were all deeply disappointed, and the experience was humiliating. Never again...

Cute little market that runs every Friday May-October. Gets busy with the lunch crowd

Smaller than expected. Night market is just ok. Good thing jazz in the garden is walking distance

You gotta try the horseradish pickles, they are crisp and yummy!

This is now the only market in D.C. where you can buy some outstanding Union Street Soap. It's only soap I'll use-- so gentle for sensitive skin. His all-natural mosquito spray = best I've ever tried.

If you already have/are willing to buy $12 bucket of Calvert Kettle Corn, bypass reg/long line. AVOID their pre-bagged corn-- it was stale, which is too bad because I think it would've been delicious.

Monique

Get the kettle corn...thank me later.

Get a bucket of Calvert kettle corn for $12 the first time and then $6 refill each time after.
